"Great! Travis stopped by and took a look at the attic and the roof cap on top of the house. He outlined how the roof was originally constructed, and the issue that I had with my roof as a result of faulty workmanship by the builder. It all made sense to me, and I asked if he could fix it. After explaining the options, I made my choice, going for the least invasive and most inexpensive option. He agreed to give it a try....to cut open the areas in the attic that were cut off due to felt covering the opening to the cap...and installing end caps on the vent. We selected the day and time. He was in contact and on time that day, and got right to the fix. While working the issue, he unclogged a downspout, caulked the fasteners holding the cap (about 15 yrs old), installed the end caps, and cut away the felt blocking the roof vent. The result has improved attic ventilation and I am happy with the work. I would not hesitate to call Travis and The Blue Roof Company for any future roof or gutter work. Very professional, personable, prompt, and reliable."

Family owned and operated, McCarty's Landscaping is your single stop in southwest Ohio for anything commercial or residential in property maintenance and management. Specializing in Landscape and hardscape, we have also began expanding into and specializing in general construction with the aid of our father company, McCarty Brothers, Inc. which holds over 30 years experience in the construction industry.

"I am honestly not sure his this company has 5 star reviews. Service has definitely went down hill. The response time and customer service is below average. Zach is very unresponsive and leaves messages unanswered. They were supposed to let me know at least one week before that they would be coming out, and I received a text the day before not even asking me if the date worked, but stating there would be a crew at my home. The owner Issac tries to do what is right, but unfortunately today 4/13/2024, I expressed 2 concerns that I have expressed 3 prior times to him and he keeps blowing me off ( 1 of them is a drain issue that could cause potential issues to my foundation) He knows it is an issue, but it’s a big deal to re do and fix. They charged me over 2,500 and knew this was one of my main concerns from day 1. They also will not come back and put anymore seed on my grass. They expect me to do that after 2,500. I tried to call Issac multiple times (the owner) and he blocked me. I tried from another number and yes I was blocked. Unbelievably unprofessional. I will be disputing all charges with my bank. My hope would be they would fix their mistakes and show true 5 star service!!!"

Roof Ice and Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

The average cost of a snow removal service is around $85, but this depends heavily on the amount of snow, your location, and the seasonal demand. An annual snow removal contract will typically cost between $200 and $600 for the season. Keep in mind that single services are usually based on the amount of snow, with every six inches adding to your total. You can expect to pay between $40 and $200 in most cases or as high as $500 or more for excessive snowfall. In many cases, it’s more affordable to enter into an annual contract.

The easiest way to remove snow from a roof involves using a roof rake that allows you to clear snow from the ground. Roof rakes are lightweight and feature adjustable handles, making them user-friendly for most people. This method also helps prevent ice dams and excess snow buildup, reducing the risk of roof damage during winter months.

When should you remove snow from your roof? A good rule of thumb is once six inches of snow accumulates.

Before firing up your snowblower, ensure that essential switches are in the correct starting position. Take a moment to double-check the throttle, fuel shut-off, and choke, ensuring they're firmly set to the "on" position. Precision in verifying each switch's alignment is crucial, so don't rush through this critical step.

The best way to remove snow from driveways is to use a two- or three-stage snow blower, which has the power to clear snow in a matter of minutes. Don’t forget to consider helpful options, such as a snow thrower, wheelbarrow plow, leaf blower, and hiring a professional snow removal company to clear off your driveway.

If you live in a cold climate with frequent heavy snowfall, investing in a snow blower may be worth the cost. Another thing to consider when factoring in cost is if you have physical limitations that make shoveling snow difficult or even dangerous. So, you may want to start shopping around for a snow blower if you have either or both of these scenarios.
