Customers say: Quick response

"Roy, was very informative and actually took pictures of the problem areas and explained what could be done to fix the problem. After that discussion, he went and got the supplies to fix the problem. Fixed the problem areas and retook pictures of were it (the roof) was fixed and again explained what he had done to correct the problem. The project took under 2 hours for him to fix."

"Perfection metal roofing replaced my old and damaged roof with a brand new metal roof that looks fantastic and functions great. Their customer service was excellent and the price they gave me was less than half of what comparable contractors were quoting me!"

"My wife and I purchased some commercial property that had some flat roof damage. Other companies had no interest in doing any repairs and only wanted to do a full replace. We had a limited budget and just needed to stop the leaking so we could run the business. Mike came out and understood what we needed. He was upfront on the costs and not afraid to tackle the job. He went above and beyond to complete the repairs quickly, thoroughly and within the quoted price. The quality was exceptional , night and day difference in the condition of the roof after it was repaired. I can't stress enough how much they helped us get our property up and running. Stateline will be getting more of our business both commercial and residential."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

The type of roof and roofing materials that are best for your mobile home depends primarily on its shape and slope. Rubber materials, such as EPDM and TPO, are best for flat, low-sloped, or bowed mobile home roofs. Asphalt shingles or metal roofing are best for mobile homes with sloped rooflines.

Roofing material costs vary depending on the type of material you choose and whether you install it yourself or hire a roofer. Shingles are the most affordable option and cost between $70 and $400 per square, metal roofing is between $100 and $1,500 per square, and concrete tile is between $300 and $1,000 per square.

The best way to prevent wind damage to your roof, especially if you live in an area prone to hurricanes, tropical storms, or tornadoes, is to invest in a roofing product with high wind resistance. Look for the ASTM D3161 and ASTM D7158 ratings to see the specific wind speeds your roofing product can withstand. Impact-resistant shingles have the highest wind resistance ratings and will give you the best chance of avoiding wind damage.

In most cases and locations, roofs with a single layer of asphalt roofing shingles won't require roof removal before installing a metal roof. However, underlayment may be necessary on roofs with moderate shingle damage. Heavily damaged roofs or ones with multiple shingle layers will most likely require removal before a metal roof can go on.

The short answer is, yes, cedar shakes do last longer than asphalt shingles. But the long answer is, it depends on maintenance. Asphalt shingles last about 20 years, while cedar shingles typically last about 30 years with proper maintenance. If they are very well maintained and installed in an area with a mild, drier climate, they can last up to 50 years.
