"A friendly WARNING to my community- I’ve never “blasted” anyone like this before. But sadly, after a pretty crappy scenario,I think it would be a horrible disservice to my community to keep it quiet. Back in March, I started the process with a contractor to have a deck installed on the back of my home. After waiting many months to get started, he finally took our deposit (10k ?) the beginning of June 2021 and said he’d start the project soon. Sadly, that’s where this all goes down hill. He only showed up to my house 3x over the next couple months and hardly did any work. His communication was horrible and I was always left wondering when he’d arrive again. I would try to email, call, and text but I could never get a response. The only way I’d hear from him was if I messaged his wife on Facebook. She’d have him answer me. In the end (mid August), he informed me that he was quitting the job because “he wouldn’t make enough money off of it”. I’m not sure that’s how signed estimates work!! However, since it was such a nightmare working with him, I was going to allow our transaction to end. All I wanted was some of my money back. Considering all he did was install posts into my yard- I knew that wasn’t worth 10k! (Side note- not all the posts were installed in the right spot like the floor plan showed and the concrete was left sticking out above the ground by at least a foot on most posts. So now my new contractor is having to change the original plan to hide the horrible blocks of concrete everywhere). So, as of now, he has kept all my money and won’t respond to me. I’ve tried messaging the wife again and now she won’t respond. Such a crappy scenario. My husband and I worked for a long time to save up for this project. Now I’m having to deal with this nightmare, while my husband is deployed and I’m trying to raise our three children and working full-time. Anyway,I just thought everyone should know. I would hate for this to happen to someone else also. Please be cautious hiring “Carlos Ortiz” also known as “Ortiz Construction Company, LLC”"

Integrated solar energy solutions: photovoltaic, solar-thermal, battery storage and heat pumps. We are not tied to any specific PV manufacturer and will source the best solution for your location and situation. Solar energy is no longer idealists' domain - it makes solid financial sense. Whether your goal is to minimize the time until your solar installation is paid off, or you want to ride out the Zombie apocalypse in comfortable energy self-sufficiency, we have the perfect solution for your location and building use. Contrary to popular perception, year-round self-sufficiency can be reasonably achieved in the Midwest. We have close relationships to vendors of weekly and seasonal energy storage systems which will keep lights and heat on year-round.

We specialize in home improvements including handymen services, roofing, siding, gutters, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, insulation, interior and exterior painting. I've been in the construction business for 33 years and I have a business degree from Indiana State University. Also, I have over four years of experience as a home warranty manager for a high end local home builder.
"Charlie Duffin and his staff were excellent in craftsmanship and efficiency. To properly mount my TV over the fireplace at the proper height, they removed my mantle and added an outlet, so cords were not visible. They were creative problem solvers to securely mount when a stud was not where one was needed. The drywall patching is flawless (there were three different holes to be repaired) and paint was custom matched. Also, they replaced all five smoke alarms, and with an eye for home safety. Before leaving, their cleanup was exceptional. Charlie was present to supervise and to inspect all work was completed to highest standards. If you need work, I highly recommend Charlie Duffin, LG Contractors."

Typical roofing repairs cost between $380 and $1,800 on average. However, most homeowners spend approximately $1,100 on a roofing repair project. The size of the roof, the extent of the damage, and the type of project all impact the final cost. External factors like product availability and supply chain issues may also affect the price.
Projects like repairing damaged gutters will only be around $180 to $560, whereas repairing a sagging roof will be a higher expense at $1,500 to $7,000.
Roof repairs start at around $700.00 and go up from there. There are many significant factors that come into play, and each customer's needs will rarely be the same.
The cost to replace your roof is often significantly more expensive than the cost to repair it. On average, homeowners will spend between $5,890 and $12,800 to replace a roof. The size of the roof, the roof’s pitch, and the number of stories the house has will significantly affect the overall cost. You can expect to spend upwards of $46,000 for large, high-end roofs.
This all depends upon size, type and complexity of the actual sloped areas of the roof. An accurate estimate with detailed lists of covered and additional items is imperative when purchasing and protecting yourself during the process.
Although not every state issues licenses for roofing pros, it's important to check with your county or city if hiring a licensed roofing contractor is necessary. Hiring an unlicensed roofer might result in low-quality work and potential legal issues if an accident happens. It’s always best to check the qualifications and licenses of your roofer before they begin a project.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Before hiring a roofing contractor to work on your project, there are a few things you will want to ask, including:
Do you use roofing subcontractors?
Do you offer a warranty?
Do you have any references?
How will you clean up after the project is complete?
Will you remove my old or damaged roof?
How long have your crews been working with you?
Do you offer a warranty?

Will you remove my old or damaged roof?
Roofing is a highly skilled and labor-intensive trade. Because of this, you can expect to pay an average of $2 per square foot for your roofing professional. Roofing labor costs generally make up about 60% of the overall project cost.
