This is the third project we have done with Universal. They previously replaced a skylight and did some work on our front porch and those jobs went so well it was only natural that we would go with them for our major roof work. Rob worked with our insurance company and was very transparent through the entire process. When it was time for our project to start, we were given a start date ahead of time and a crew began work when they said they would. The work done was beautiful, and we could not be happier. Everyone on site communicated effectively and often with us, were respectful of my house, and cleaned up well when the project was over. I would highly recommend Universal. Now that I have a long term, water tight roof, I know I won’t need them up there again but I will certainly call them first for any future projects!

It was terrible. They put sky tunnels in my main living area (kitchen, dining room, family room- open concept house) It was two days before Thanksgiving. They had to cut through the ceiling and did not use a drop cloth. They did not bring a shop vac. I had drywall dust all over everything. I asked them before the install if I should move the pillows, blankets, antique knick-knacks, etc. and they said no, they would cover everything. I called Rob and asked him to get a cleaning crew out because I was hosting Thanksgiving and he said he could not. There was even drywall dust on my clothes hanging in my bedroom closet because that is where the attic access was. They also installed the glass "windows" without cleaning them so their dirty hand prints and drywall dust was all over! I had to have them come back out to clean it, but they did not reseal them so bugs are getting in. I called them to come back out and fix the problem 3 times and all three times they sent a sales person who said they could not fix it. Rob, the owner would not return my calls. I finally called another company who consulted with the manufacturer and he said they did not install them correctly and it will cost almost as much to fix it!

Punctual & professional job from estimate to completion. Good supervision & communication throughout. Worked well with our insurance company, providing photos to document existing features of roof that weren't in insurance estimate. Quickly resolved damage done to our gutters by roofing crew. Would definitely use them again

It went very well. I had seen them do a few of my neighbors' roofs 3 years ago and was impressed with how they worked (and cleaned up). For that reason I didn't get a second quote, so I really don't know if the price was high or not. It just seemed high since it wasn't being paid by insurance. Everyone did what they said they'd do and when they said they'd do it. The supervisor was here nearly all day. Even the guy who came for the trailer late in the day did another thorough clean up of the driveway and sidewalk. The roof looks great!

They came in was at least 4-6 people and they really did a good job. The house looks beautiful and the rotten wood was all gone. We're very happy with this company. Rob Yeary was pleasure to work with, professional, friendly and accommodating.

Our insurance company recommended we use Universal for our roof. They replaced our roof in a timely manner with the kind of shingles we liked. They worked with our insurance company really well.

It was good. It just took them a couple of reschedules and some communication, but some of it was weather related. It is hard to tell, but they did complete the job and everything was fine. Their initial visit they were quicker. I didn't talk to the guy who actually did the repair.

Rob came out twice to assist with several different issues on our home. He recommended a new skylight to fix our leak in the kitchen, which Universal installed promptly. It looks great and the job site was cleaned up very well, leaving very little indication anyone had been there. And of course, no more leak! We also had some major chimney issues which eventually resulted in our taking the entire thing down. Rob recommended a great company to do that work for us. I am very pleased with my experience with Universal and would definitely use them again.

Awful! After calling 2 days before set service date, they confirmed we were all set to start the project, they didn't show at time scheduled. I had to call company to find out what was going on, from there it was all down hill. Had to reschedule..but they didn't let me know, never told me about delivering the product ahead of time, didn't pick up yard very well, left debris (nails) everywhere, left the attic space above the garage with wood panels in bad shape (holes etc should of been replaced), lost two days of work. Just a lot of frustration because I had to initiate all communication until it came to payment, which they wanted before job was done, because the date on the contract couldn't be changed?! Thought they should offer a discount for all the problems, a whole 2%!! Very bad experience for us as first time home owners spending that kind of money I expected more from them!!

It went great. The value besides a clean and professional job was he help me fight the insurance co. to get them to pay for the roof. Alway responsive and made sure things were don correctly. Will use them in the future and recommend them to anyone.

This is the friendliest bunch of folks one could imagine. Owner friendly, foreman friendly, every member of the crew energetic, industrious, and friendly. They all, from boss to gopher, seem to like each other, care about each other, like doing the work (which is a lot, tearing off an old roof, laying down down the base and hammering the shingles down by hand ! (for better control, not going too deep was the explanation). They cleaned up the place above and beyond what was messed up and I had very little picking up to do after they were gone. They did the roofing from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm - a double crew was put on because of impending rain the second day, which never materialized. A couple of other little jobs were also taken care of and while I was working in their space, they gave me a hand with little things like when I dropped something from my ladder, a crew member came and picked it up for me! The roof looks lovely, although it was described as being much darker than it turned out to be, it is fine, will keep the rain and the critters out and I have found the replacement for the best roofer ever. (Frank Yeary, whose nephew Rob happens to be the owner of Universal Roofing, did the second roof on the house in 1986 and I had been looking for his successor in the intervening years!) Today Mike the foreman came back to have a look at the work with me and it was a "love fest". Everything is nice and tidy. I have a longish guarantee on the work and materials and if I am lucky, it will last as long as the first roof that went on the house back in the mid-60s. But if anything should happen with this roof Universal is the first place I will call.
