  • Top Quality Fence & Arbor LLC

Top Quality was two days late starting the job due do being behind schedule on other jobs. That didn't really bother me. They worked one day and then the second day they were rained out by a torrential storm during the middle of the day. The crew was very friendly and polite and the clean up was exceptional

Mike did all the work we asked of him as we worked to decide whether to try to save our beautiful hedge or take it out and build a great fence. Mike provided references and we drove to two sites to see the quality of his work. In both cases the posts were dead straight, all the angles were perfect and he has the best price in the region for cedar. At the end of the exercise we decided to prune the hedge hard and make significant landscaping improvements. We will know in one year whether it was the right choice. Then you can bet we'll back to mike and Fencing Unlimited to get that project built

They actually gave a discount for that fence that they install for $4,000, it should cost me about $6,000. They have some issues with their suppliers. They are trying to match up my materials, checking inventory with other vendors around the country and try to get it in. Its not their fault, the suppliers stop making the particular product. If you need a fence there probably the best to go to. They offer whatever type of fencing that you want, whatever kind of situation you have they will find a way to install your fence and if they can't do it they'll be honest and say to you that they can't

  • Head's Construction Inc

I moved into this older house on Evansville's northside, aware that the roof would need to be replaced, per my inspection report. The crew was on site for several days, tearing off the old roof, installing new shingles to the house, a shed, and a gazebo, and making some needed repairs to a deck. Jeff Head's company had been personally recommended to me, since I'm new to the Evansville area, but as always, I checked Angie's list to see what others' opinions were, and was satisfied. He did not disappoint. Based on the work completed, I asked Jeff to give me an estimate on new gutters and gutter guards, and had this work completed the following month. The cost of service reflects all the work completed. Head's Construction is also going to replace the fencing around my back yard, which is now being scheduled. I would recommend this company. The owner and crews have done a wonderful job at a reasonable price

The crew was very professional and thorough in their work. Immediately following the installation, the salesperson called from the office to ensure that we were pleased with the quality of the work, and told me to call if we had any issues whatsoever. The job was completed when promised and was well done. The crew worked steadily and professionally and were responsive to our needs and concerns. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing fencing work done

I only wish every project could run as smoothly as this one, start to finish. From getting an estimate to completing the fence every member of the staff was exceptionally courteous, professional and responsive to any questions & inquriies. The project was delayed a week but we were notified two weeks out. We were kept informed each day of the progress and plan for the next day. The crew was here on time everyday and performed exceptional work to complete a beautiful fence. They were also very accomodating about working with us to minimize inconvenience to our 4 dogs. We are not just pleased but thrilled with the chance to do business with this company and would not hesitate to use them again

Couldn't be more pleased. The two men who put up the privacy fence were courteous, informative, and efficient. When they had completed the fence I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of it. I actually looked for something to be critical of, but it was impossible to find anything at all in which to find fault. I would use them again in a heartbeat

Our experience was very good. I like that you could do it yourself. You didn't have to dig holes and concrete the post, you just pound on these poles in and put the fence in.

  • Indiana Dog Fence

Prior to installation, and since, Bob Swarm has been prompt and effective in answering all of my inquiries. My dog, acquired as a 10-week-old puppy is now over a year old... and he's still with us! He knows his territory and enjoys tremendously the portion that is his to roam. He did "sail through" his barrier one time, during the training phase (when I knew to be with him on a long leash, anyway. And, at that time, I hadn't followed through with the training as I knew I should have. The owner must have some responsibility for the success of underground fencing, obviously). A call to Bob was promptly answered with advice that has kept my dog happily inside his perimeter ever since - even in spite of irresistable temptations. Bob Swarm obviously cares about dogs and about people. I always have the feeling that he is acting in the best interest of his customers and their pets

Later, Bob Swarm came to my home to help train my dog in the use of the fence. He also provided VERY prompt consultation on the several occasions when I have requested it from him. My dog remains safe, confined, and happy in our yard for the 2 years we have had our fence! Please see my report of Oct 2101 for more details and photograph

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
