"A&D stepped in to take on this project when we had to 'fire' the original contractor for a variety of reasons (long story). A&D did the demolition of the old cabinets and coordinated the electrical and plumbing updates, painting, backsplash installation and detail work such as installing a new pantry door. We were installing IKEA cabinets and used a company that does this work for IKEA around the country and the same for countertop fabrication and installation. We had used A&D for water mitigation problems previously and found the company to be reliable, responsive in an emergency, professional, friendly and easy to work with. This was consistently true with the kitchen renovation where there was added complexity with the number of service providers involved. We are starting our next project with A&D in early January with a master bath reno, laundry/utility room repair and installation of new hardwood floors - all being done due to a water leak that A&D handled. A&D has already been involved with this project, providing guidance through the insurance claim process which, through no fault of A&D's, was very frustrating and took months. It's really a relief to have a service provider you can trust."
"I have relied on Ron to fix/repair many issues with my home. He found the source of a sneaky roof leak and redid all the flashing around my fireplace chimney (which another contractor did poorly the first time), repaired a crack in the chimney cap and redid the grouting in the stack. He completely remodeled my bathroom, which required demolition out to the 2x4's, removal of rotted subfloor, mold/mildew mitigation, laying custom tile and wall treatments, plumbing, and the creative solution for many, many problems he discovered along the way. Recently, he repaired a section of my roof that took some damage from a fallen tree. I've also relied on him for many smaller "honey-do" projects. He is a dream to work with, always professional, leaving the worksite cleaner than when he found it, and communicating his ideas clearly with no suprises. "We dealt with the owner, Mark Spencer, directly. The process was virtually seamless from start to finish. It was very reassuring to work with the owner. He knows a ton about windows and home improvements in general (as also a general contractor). He was more interested in finding out what we wanted than selling us on anything in particular. That was a breath of fresh air for sure after looking at some other companies that send sales people to your door. A lot was riding on this purchase, so we were glad to work with someone that knew what they were doing. We decided on his company because of his experience and knowing that the relationship was important to him so he would take care of us. We made a great choice. During installation his crew was very experienced and professional. I felt comfortable having these guys around the house. I had planned to work from home, but after talking to them a little bit I just left them with my cell number and told them to let me know if they needed anything. My wife was in and out through the whole project. They finished most of the inside of our house on the first day (getting the windows actually installed). They completed the big bow window and the sliding door on the second day and finished up the metal work the next morning. When they were gone you would have never known they had ever been there...other than the brand new windows. They were fantastic! Our house was built in 1982 and our old windows were our driving source of energy inefficiency. We did online research for almost a year (on and off) and when we got serious we had a couple of companies over. One thing I learned is that a lot of window companies use the exact same manufacturer to build their windows, they just slap their name tag on them (and they can tweak the design...most likely for style...and the prices for the same windows vary like you wouldn't believe). One company in particular was trying to sell us on the foam and metal material used for installation (claiming their stuff was the best). I later found out that Mark's company was using the exact same materials. In the end, I highly recommend Legacy Window & Door. No gimmicks and a great product! "
"The job started with us needing someone to replace some siding on the chimney due to water leaking in behind the siding causing deterioration and paint peeling off of the siding. The job was relatively small and consequently we contacted several qualified contractors and they were not willing to even come and scope out our job. Somebody referred us to Maximus and when I called and talked to Eric, he was willing to take on the project even though it was relatively small. When he showed up to evaluate the situation and give an estimate for the job, he discovered that the cause of our problem was that we had a concrete cap around our chimneys that had cracked and separated and allowing water to seep in and deteriorate the trim boards and siding. We agreed to have him replace the siding and trim boards and to replace the chimney chase because his quote was very reasonable. During this same visit, I was asking him about the condition of the shingles on the roof because they had been in place for 20 years. They were showing signs of wear but he said they could last another year or two. I inquired as to the cost of him roofing the house too while he was doing the other jobs for us and that quote seemed very reasonable so I agreed to that job as well. He finished the total project today in less than a week and everything looks really good. He maintained the schedule that he promised and he was on site nearly every day to make sure things were running smooth. We will definitely call Maximus again when the need arises. "
"The employees at All Star Building Corp. were out standing they were on time and worked was done in a timely manner. One of the things that I liked most about All Star Building Corp, was the way that they took note of a little play pool in the back yard and my dogs. I noticed that they went out of there way to control the mess when removing my old roof. I know that all contractors in this line of work try to do this, but these guys took it to a new level, I had to stop in at the house a few times while they were working they did not know I was there, but I noticed that they were going out of their way to be sure that none of the old roof or nails fell in the back yard. Now I did not ask them to do this, don't even think that I said any thing about my dogs, that is what made me notice. They were just doing all they could to keep everything contained. When they were done my son and I did a very thorough inspection of the yard for the safety of the dogs and found no shingles or nails any where. The fact is they did a great job on all the work they had to do and also cared enough to take the extra steps to not put my dogs at risk. This meant a lot to me. More companies should be like this."
