August 21, 2017 I hired Maximus General Contracting Inc. to put siding, soffit, fascia wrap, and gutters on my home on Dequincy St in November 2012. Maximus reroofed the house the year before and did a good job, so I hired them for this bigger job. I was happy with the job at the time, but unfortunately there have been some problems and poor follow-up, which given the scale of the work performed (more than $20,000 in total), is quite disappointing. In October 2016 strong winds blew off the fascia wrap and much of the soffit on the West side of the house, scattering the pieces around the yard. I contacted Eric Hunsucker, the owner, and asked him to repair it. He said it would cost $300 to fix. After repairs, he asked for $400, which I paid without protest. Although I was disappointed that he did not repair it for free, I tried to be understanding given that there were strong winds. On June 26 2017, an eight-foot section of fascia wrap on the Northeast corner of the house blew off, with the wrap still attached on one end, and the other end dangling and banging against the house. I called Eric to repair it. At that time, he warned me that he was very busy and would not be able to get to for maybe a week. I recognized that it was a busy time, and that I could wait a week. I nailed it up myself temporarily until he could get to it. At this point, I am becoming concerned that other fascia wrap will soon be falling off the house, as the East side of the house is exposed to little wind and should not have failed. Eric blamed the age of the wood on the failure, but I found the fascia board to be sound when I nailed up the hanging wrap. With no follow-up two weeks later, I called Eric again in mid-July, and he promised to come take care of it. I did not hear back from him, so in late July I called again, with a new promise to repair it. On August 3rd, I called again, this time quite annoyed with the repeated promises and no follow-through. In total, six weeks have elapsed since Eric said he would repair this, with four verbal promises to make the repair, and has not yet contacted me nor repaired it. Although I recognize that siding work is not guaranteed indefinitely, I expect that aluminum fascia wrap would be affixed in such a way as to last more than 4 years. There was no admission of substandard work, nor apology that his work was literally falling off my house. The repeated promises with zero follow-through indicates that Eric is unwilling to stand behind his work. He does not appear to value me as a customer who had spent a considerable sum with his company. I therefore cannot recommend Eric as a contractor that you can count on. Update: after sending an email with this letter attached to his website ([*** Link removed ***] on 8/10/2017, along with yet another phone call, I still got no response, nor repair. It has held up well.  No further issues.  Very professional.

The roof replacement was fine, but he didn't seal/paint the soffit. This caused a delay in the completion of the repairs I need to complete for an appraiser to sign off on the sale of the house, which caused a delay in the close date. Punctuality and professionalism.

We had a leak in the kitchen that we could not determine the source.  Every time it rained there was water on the kitchen floor.  Eric was able to find a hole in the roof where a tree branch had pierced through.  The water was coming in the hole and running down the wall.  He fixed the leak and we have had no problems since.  Good job.

Upon uncovering a leak during a rain, I emailed Maximus Contracting through Angie's List. They were my 3rd email sent but the previous 2 had other things going on and couldn't accommodate the 1-2 day appointment I needed to prevent further leak damage. Eric (Owner) was very responsive and responded to my email quickly. Upon return call, he said he could have someone there that day. Leo arrived and immediately assessed the situation and explained the required repairs to me. Upon his call to Eric and then Eric's call to me to discuss the repair cost, I was very satisfied with the agreed-to price. Eric even had Leo caulk the vent above the garage with no increase in cost. Leo left to get materials and returned in about 20 minutes. The actual repairs took him about 1.5 hours and after cleaning up, he was there for about 3 hours. The weather looked like rain and it did rain that evening and the next day, so I am grateful to Eric for answering my email and acting promptly. I will go back to Maximus General Contracting for any future home repairs.

I called Maximus Contracting about needing a new roof because of hail/wind damage.  I needed it quickly because we're selling the house soon, and I didn't have a big budget to work with because I received less from my insurance company than I was expecting.  Eric called back quickly and gave me a very reasonable estimate for the work.  The new shingles are of better quality than my original roof, and it looks great.  I finalized my shingle choice with Eric, and the crew completed the work the very next day.  Eric even came out to my office a couple times because my schedule doesn't often allow me to be at home during the day.  All in all, it was a great experience.  I feel confident that I received a great value, and the customer service was exceptional.  I would highly recommend using this company!

The job started with us needing someone to replace some siding on the chimney due to water leaking in behind the siding causing deterioration and paint peeling off of the siding panels. The repair which we were pursuing was relatively small and consequently we contacted several qualified contractors and they were not willing to even come and scope out our job. Someone referred us to Maximus and when I called and talked to Eric, he was willing to take on the project even though it was small. When he showed up to evaluate the situation and give an estimate for the job, he discovered that the cause of our problem was due to the concrete cap around our chimneys that had cracked and separated and allowed water to seep in and deteriorate the trim boards and siding.We agreed to have him replace the siding and trim boards and to replace the chimney chase because his quote was very reasonable. During this same visit, I was asking him about the condition of the shingles on the roof because they had been in place for 20 years. They were showing signs of wear but he said they could last another year or two. I inquired as to the cost of him roofing the house too while he was doing the other jobs for us and that quote seemed very reasonable so I agreed to that job as well. He has just finished the total project in less than a week and everything looks really good. He maintained the schedule that he promised and he was on site nearly every day to make sure things were running smooth. We will definitely call Maximus again when the need arises.

We just bought our new house and knew that it needed a new roof.  The listing agent referred us to Maximus and we are glad they did.  Eric was very helpful in every step of the process.  He helped us pick the color and type of shingle that would best fit our home, giving us information to consider and letting us make the decision.  He and his crew were professional through the entire process.  They showed up when they said they would and checked in with us throughout the job to make sure we did not have any questions and that we were happy with the way things were going.  I would definitely use them again as we were very happy with the professionalism, honesty, and quality of work.

It went great, they came out on the day that we were told. During the removal of the layers of the roof all waste material were placed in there trash dumpster and any material that was on the ground was picked up. They even ran a magnet  over the yard to pick up any nails that might have fell in the grass. During our discussion of the roof before placement Eric suggested that we needed to add a few more box vents to insure that we had proper ventilation on our roof. Both me and my wife were impressed on the look of the finished project and we would hire Maximus General Contracting again.  All waste material were picked up and the drive way was clean and free from trash.

Eric was great; he came out and actually measured the area in need of repair, giving a very accurate estimate for the project.  He even came back to the house when rain interfered with getting on the roof.  Even with the spring storms he was able to have my project completed within the time frame he initially gave.  My wife and I are very impressed with the work and the house looks much better.  He even added trim to areas along the roof that previously did not have trim; which balances the look of the house. We already had a painter working on the house and getting the wood work completed in such a timely manner was very helpful.

It's wonderful to find a contractor who is responsive and honest. We called Eric to clean our gutters due to the heavy rains, and he was able to squeeze us in same day. When he got on the roof, he informed us the gutters were completely clean. From there, he went on to help us troubleshoot the blockage down to the underground gutter system. A huge thanks.

Eric and his people are very professional.  Eric is very nice and promptly to our request.  He fixed our roof on last Saturday since it was raining on Sunday. He also gave us good advice about our roof maintenance.  The fixing price he gave is very reasonable.  We will definitely use him when we replace our roof next time and recommend him to our friends as well.

It went great. Eric was present when the insurance adjuster came to check it out and he worked with her to get us as much money as possible. Insurance only paid for the ceiling water stain removal and attic work, but not for roof replacement because roof problem was not from wind or hail, etc.
The work needed 3 contractors - Roof guys, mold remediator and Painter. We got quotes form 2 other companies, but decided to go with Eric due to several reasons - local business, he himself is the owner; the price, which was better than the other 2 companies; his ability to get the whole job done in 2.5 days during the snowy month of Jan-Feb. The roof guys worked in coordination with the Mold remediator and they finished that part in 1.5 days. The painter came another day and finished the interior work in that day. With the other companies, they were only able to do 1 or 2 of the things and we had to get the painter by ourselves.
The whole team did a great job. They cleaned up the yard completely.
We are still waiting on the paperwork - final receipts, the certificates for insurance purposes, though.

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. I would not recommend them to anyone. First, he said that he was going to come but didn't show up  and he didn't realize that I knew he didn't show up. They got to reschedule. He came out and then I had to leave. Then I asked him on several occasions to give me a quote for the rest of the work that we need to be done and I have yet to receive it. I called two or three times and he said "I'm busy", "I'm on another part yet." He told me last week when I called that "I'll get it to you by Monday." That was last Monday. I was going to give him a call again today and let him know how displeased I am and I would not ever recommend that roofing company to anyone. I almost feel like I'm wasting my money.

The experience was good. They were responsive, they were efficient, and they took care of my roofing issue.
