"We hired Premier Home Pros to convert a tub into a walk-in shower in our Center City condominium. Most contractors that we contacted would not do this job in a condominium complex. "AER Flooring did a wonderful job! The old tile was breaking and uneven. Albert and his crew recognize the problems and knew how to fix them. The old floor was taken up and revealed some problems from the previous installer. He was able to assess the situation and knew what to do to fix it. The new floor is flat and level and does not make any sounds when you walk across it. They put everything back exactly the way it was. I could not be happier with the work that they did! Unlike traditional carpet, which requires a separate pad, carpet tiles are designed to be installed directly onto a firm subfloor like plywood, concrete, or tile. Many carpet tiles come with a built-in underlay and attach with peel-and-stick adhesive, double-sided carpet tape, or glue. For a more comfortable, cushioned feel, especially in residential settings, you can opt for padded carpet tiles that have a thicker underlay attached. While it's generally not recommended to install a separate pad, a compact underlayment might be used in some situations, though this typically requires professional installation. An acoustic underlay may also be considered in commercial spaces or multi-level homes where noise reduction is a priority.

Most people realize it is time to replace the padding when the carpet loses springiness or feels thin and unsupportive. Other telltale signs are lumps or dips in the carpet that could look unattractive or cause tripping hazards. Similarly, if your carpet is making a crinkly sound or starting to wear out prematurely, you might need to replace your padding.
