"Rob is fantastic. Very meticulous in everything he does from removing the carpet, installing underlayment, to laying the laminate flooring. Would definitely hire him again for any future flooring jobs."

"Premier Home Pros sent a contractor that was very professional. Zymier was always communicating on what he was doing. Plus extremely helpful and answered all concerns. I was also please with the job manager (s) Jim and especially Tyler Z. who stepped in with Zymier and completed the daunting task of a small "farmhouse" bathroom. Great job guys!"

"I had my entire kitchen renovated- cabinets and flooring. Chris came out and installed my new kitchen transformation. He was very professional every step of the way, always responsive, and was always willing to answer any questions I had. All of his work and materials are high quality. The cabinets, flooring, and backsplash are all in now, and they look amazing!”"

"It was great from start to finish. When I inquired online, the company promptly called, and the next day Andy came over for an estimate. He spent over an hour of his time discussing my needs and making professional suggestions. He said he’d be the one who’d do the work if I chose them. It was a 5-day project, so it was nice knowing in advance who would be coming into our home everyday. Once I called to schedule, Andy started that next week. He worked so diligently, we barely knew he was here! I ordered the tile from one store, and the shower door from another, and he went and picked them up at no extra charge! In the end, I was very happy with his craftsmanship and my updated bathroom!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

The difference between a 40-oz. and 60-oz. carpet is the carpet face weight, meaning the 60-oz. carpet weighs 20 ounces more per square yard. When looking at two similar carpets of the same material and type, the 60-oz. carpet face weight likely indicates higher quality and more durability due to heavier carpet fibers.

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.

The best underlayment for carpet on concrete is a sponge rubber underlayment. This type of carpet padding is durable enough to endure wear and tear on hard concrete yet soft enough to provide comfort underfoot. It also creates insulation from sound and temperature, providing warmth despite the concrete’s cold surface.

DIY is possible for small areas. Professional installation ensures proper stretching and a polished finish.

Your room doesn’t need to be completely empty to restretch a carpet, but you’ll need enough space that you can move around furniture to access the wrinkled areas and the wall where you’re reattaching the carpet. A contractor will move your furniture out of the way before they start the job, but you can save money by moving your furniture before they arrive.
