"This is an amazing family business. I lost my father and I was able to have trash hauled away, donations made to a cause I really believe in, and his house listed all within a week. They were great to work with. I would highly recommend them for all of the needs that a death in the family brings. I would absolutely use them again!"

"Wow! I was so relieved Miles Dump Solutions was able to help me out on such short notice. Sometimes you don't realize how much junk you have to get rid of until you're in the middle of a project. They contacted me immediately and scheduled a pick-up time on the same day. I know that can't always happen, but that was exactly what I needed. They showed up exactly when they said they would and left everything looking tidy. The communication was wonderful - so there were no surprises with pick-up. I've done a lot of work that requires dumpsters, junk pick-up, etc. This was one of the most seamless and easiest processes ever. Lots of services require you to be there to pay them on the spot when they pick up. I was able to get on with my day and pay online. I am adding them to my contact list. I highly recommend! Thanks for making my day easier."

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

Your garbage disposal is not draining because it might have a clog due to food waste, a foreign object, grease, oil, fat, or it may have a broken motor. When water doesn't flush out of the disposal, that's a key sign that your disposal has a clog or needs repair.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.

If you cook a lot or have a larger household, a garbage disposal can be worth it, since it streamlines your kitchen duties and helps to keep food waste out of landfills. It helps to know the cost of garbage disposal installation before you make your decision. The average price is about $400, but you can expect to pay more for higher-end models or if you hire a pro to do the job for you.

To prevent drain clogs, perform regular maintenance and cleaning. Avoid disposing of substances like grease or coffee grounds down the sink. Additionally, installing and routinely using drain strainers can help catch debris and prevent blockages from forming.

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.
