"Horrible! Prestige pools promised the world when selling us the pool and fell short at every turn. I own a home renovation company so know the game. Signed contract because they promised it would be built before the winter. Mid June after many calls they finally started. They worked a day here....a day there....never letting us know when or why . I made many calls asking when the guys would build because of what was promised and I needed to get more concrete done around the pool once they were done. Secretary every time was like talking to a recording, saying the same bull they tell everyone on why pool wasn’t done. I ended up hiring my own crew to backfill ditch in yard and grade yard that had huge piles of dirt for months left . They left a massive pile of gravel in middle of yard no where close to pool for me to get rid of. My pump pipes leaning so bad I have to re do. Concrete around the pool is undermined all over . Left concrete dust in pool and made us vacuum up. Cracks in concrete, tape , caution tape, and trash left all over the place. No matter how many calls I make they never show to finish. They take half the money on start, almost half half way through, and never show up to finish. They take as many jobs as they can to sell and once they get money you will wait forever to get started and they will put you on the back burner to finish if they even do. Worse experience ever. If I ran my business like prestige I wouldn’t have a business"

Mesh and tempered glass are both very safe pool fencing options because they’re difficult to climb. You might also want to consider installing a pool safety net, and always make sure your pool is maintained properly. There are many factors to consider when building an in-ground concrete pool. This includes the pool’s primary purpose (relaxation or exercise) if you live in a warm or cold climate (how often it’ll be used), and if you have the budget for chemical treatments and pool maintenance. In-ground pools are often more costly than aboveground pools, but they’re considered more luxurious and hold more value.

Some but not all types of pool enclosures block ultraviolet (UV) rays. You can opt for specially coated glass for your enclosure that helps block the harmful UV rays from reaching you in the pool. To keep yourself safe from harmful UV rays while swimming, it’s best to routinely use waterproof sunblock. 

A retaining wall can only function as a fence if it’s high enough on all sides to prevent someone from accidentally falling into the pool. However, most retaining walls retain dirt, which means their purpose is not related to safety. There would need to be nothing on the other side of the wall for it to be considered a fence, but in that case, it wouldn’t retain anything and would cease to be a retaining wall.  

Your pool enclosure’s lifespan will depend on the type and materials, but on average, you can expect it to last 10 to 15 years. The climate and level of maintenance will also affect how long your pool enclosure lasts.
