"2/14/26 Nic Trees Fidel's service definitely deserves 5 stars! He climbed up the tree to cut down and remove a huge tree branch that was blown and fallen onto our roof. He worked very skillfully and carefully to section the branch and lowered the trunk pieces onto the ground away from our house. He is very responsive to our call for service, came to price out the job the next day, and had the job done two days later. I highly recommend his service!!!!!"

Customers say: Quick response

"This is probably the best tree service I have ever had in 40 Years of Living in this house! Mr. Vasquez and his amazing team climbed our 70 foot tall trees to the top, and carefully examined every single limb and branch or overall specimen beauty, tree health, balance, and future growth, before they even made one cut. They cleaned, hauled, and chopped up the debris so efficiently. It was all done professionally.....beautifully,... and now we have openness, healthy fruit trees, and beautiful property hill and forest behind our house that now allows sky and lets in light and air! I will absolutely use them again next year and anytime for projects that we have concerning our trees! The Best of the Best."

"I had a large maple tree in an enclosed backyard that reached over fences and power lines. Rubio responded quickly to my inquiry, explaining the general condition of the tree and his recommendation for removal. The price he quoted was very competitive, and he was able to begin work on the tree that week. Once they started, the 4 person crew removed the tree without damage to power line or fence, ground the large stump, and removed all the remains of the tree. They finished the job in two days. They had the price, know how, equipment, and personnel to do the job. Based on my experience, I recommend Rubio."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Generally, avoid trimming trees in the summer (with the exception of pruning fruit trees as needed). Trees use a lot of energy in the summer, most of which is relegated to new growth. If you chop it too early, you could stunt the next season's growth. Again, when in doubt, do some research based on the specific tree type.

A tree can split because of high winds, a change in temperature, or from an infestation or tree disease. All of these factors can overlap, making a single cause difficult to pinpoint. While winter storms are some of the most common causes for a tree to split, it can also happen because of termites or rot.

The best time to transplant a tree is when it is dormant. For many trees, this means either in the fall after the leaves have dropped (around October or November) or in early spring before new growth begins (around March). The ideal timing can depend on the type of tree. Deciduous trees do well when moved in early spring or fall, while evergreens are best transplanted in early spring or late summer. For example, pine trees are best moved in early fall, but maples prefer late fall. Avoid transplanting in winter, as the frozen or hard, cold soil poses a significant risk to the roots and prevents the tree from acclimating properly.

Tree roots can take weeks to years to die, depending on the method you use. Chemical herbicides take the least amount of time—typically between three and four weeks—while homemade methods, like covering an old stump with leaves, could take between seven and eight years. If you’re unsure which method to use or how quickly you need to act, consulting with a pro is always a good idea.

A dead tree should always be cut down, because it could fall and cause injuries or damage, and it can also attract insects like carpenter ants. A tree that’s diseased beyond repair should also be cut down, but it’s not always easy for a homeowner to tell. Signs of disease include dying branches, a hollow trunk, leaning, and discolored or missing leaves, but your best bet is to hire a local arborist who can evaluate the tree and tell you if it can be saved or should be cut down.
