Luckily, structural engineers like this have no monetary incentive to push you to do unnecessary work. The owner came out, took a look, and said that my slab was not load bearing and the issues was only cosmetic. He also took a look at some other areas of the house I had concern on and addressed my other concerns. He gives you the option of either a written or verbal report. Since I had no issues in my inspection, A verbal report was completely satisfactory. (whats nice is that a verbal report is also cheaper).
