Run don’t walk from this “builder”. I contracted Buskirk to replace a fireplace and associated work with it. WOW what a mistake he was on every level. I will say when he is trying to get your money, he is very nice and easy to work with. Unfortunately, once he get the money it goes down hill in the worst way. It did take some time between deposit and work being started. Although I feel like that is normal as I have had multiple contractors in and out of my house. First the fireplace was installed almost at floor level. This is a modern fireplace that should be installed almost to waist level. I explained multiple times and showed him multiple times where we wanted it. Of course this did not occur. When asked to fix every excuse imaginable as to why he can’t or doesn’t suggest he change it occurred. I even have his excuses recorded. I am 100% certain he will respond to this review and of course pass blame to the customer which is what he does. The stacked stone was installed with large gaps and it is not supposed to have any gaps. In fact some are 1/8 inch when there should be no gapping. Of course you guessed it this joker blames the customer again. The old gas lines were not removed and bang on the floor and a huge mess has been left everywhere. His response to everything is we just want to bash him. No we don’t want to bash him we just wanted the work done correctly. His attitude is horrible and is very difficult to work with. Please choose anyone else I hope you do not have to go threw what we did.

We're also happy to have our designer meet with you to help with the layout of the stacked brick design. In regards to payment, we have not received your final payment at this point. Please let us know when you sent over your payment so we can ensure we received it. As for the pipe that was left out, we do not work with gas lines, that is something that is covered by a separate company you hired direct to install the fireplace."

A very professionally run company that pays attention to the details of its work. Excellent communication throughout the process and quick response to questions that needed to be answered. In addition, they did a terrific job of cleaning up after their work and were respectful of my schedule. I've received so many compliments on the work they did from framing to laying the tiles in the shower and on the floor. A first class company!

Jim & team knocked it out of the park. Due to some of the challenges of the job, other companies walked off the bid process. We needed alot of engineering & structural work, permit work, repair of 100+ year old poor non-code repairs - all in addition to everything else. Jim took it in stride. He always had options for us, sent updates and pictures, went the extra mile and made sure we were happy. At one point the gas co shut off service last winter for an upgrade, when Jim got there the toilet had cracked and we had some damage - he made sure the water was off, got the gas and furnace restarted and called us. I think he saved us alot of heartburn. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Jim worked with us to help meet our budget while filling our desires. I was willing to handle the painting and staining so they provided me the materials and worked around my schedule. We also wanted specific things done in the basement remodel which they did not hesitate to tackle. This included staining the cement floors, installing barn doors and adding an "on demand" water heater. Jim was always willing to take our phone call during the process. They were also flexible and adjusted with our whims and last minute ideas. We could not have been happier with the overall performance.

We were extremely satisfied with Buskirk Construction for the remodel of our home.
Jim was very pleasant, polite and professional and answered our numerous questions we had throughout the process.
The design from Kevin of Kitchens and Baths (provided in a separate review), for assisting in the selection of the countertops, cabinets and tile as well as paint scheme was excellent.
All subcontractors were easy to work with, especially Jim and Dwight. We really only had one issue that concerned the tile installer but we feel that is on the actual company that provided the installer and not Buskirk Construction. We provided a separate review of that company.
Getting a major remodel like this was stressful in itself but we knew upfront it was going to be a long process and we love the way our house turned out and would do it again in a heartbeat.
We would most strongly recommend Buskirk Construction for any remodel project. Awesome job!

Jim Buskirk met us with his designer, Monica of Kitchens and Baths in kenosha pretty much immediately. The project was pretty big since we had to move a wall and also a window. ??They worked with us to re-design our kitchen and also replace flooring. ?We met with them in 3/2014 and wanted the work completed in late fall 2014. ?The design process went well with Monica providing assistance selecting/matching cabinets, granite, backsplash, etc. ?The project was to take about two months. ?Construction started pretty much on time. Completion was a bit late, although it was primarily due to the cabinet company delivering one wrong cabinet. ?I believe if the correct cabinet had arrived, he would have completed pretty much on time as promised. ?The electrical and plumber?subcontractors were great and Jim Buskirk kept us informed throughout the process. ?The flooring and tile company did a nice job, but were a bit messy with exterior debris. ? ?Jim also worked with someone to get a custom iron railing designed and installed. ?Overall, I thought Buskirk and their designers did a great job and were very responsive. ?We are very happy with the completed project.

See above. While we didn't end up buying the house, we would use him if we had another remodeling project. He was very knowledgeable and had very good ideas about how to do things that I never would have thought of.

We began the process with Kitchens and Baths by Sue, the designer affiliated with Buskirk construction. The quote seemed reasonable though of course everything came in over budget, so we wished for a more appropriate quote from the start. Both Kitchen and Bath and Buskirk seemed slow and unresponsive at times. We signed the initial contract at the beginning of August, 2013, construction wasn't begun until February of 2014 and wasn't finished until June. There were many promises of the project being completed by a certain date, only to have it unfinished with no explanation. There were multiple issues along the way including major problems with the tile subcontractor and unexplained issues with the glass as well as poor follow-up throughout the process. In fact, often we felt like we were calling to get answers instead of Buskirk preemptively telling us what was going on. The bathroom is beautiful now, but the process was long, inconvenient and stressful to get to this point.

Great price, fantastic product. Very happy upon completion. Could have been better communication during the process as it took longer from time of installation to time of finish. I had a few minor concerns at completion that were remedied immediately without hesitation.

They did a fantastic job, the crew was very professional and nice to deal with. The install went with out a hitch and everything was back together just like it was before they started except we had a brand new door. I would use these folks again in an instant.

They were fantastic. Very professional in their conduct. Polite and considerate. Installed all of the trim back in place. Could not even tell any work had been done when they left except there was a new sliding door installed. I would use them again
