"Good work in general; our basement no longer sees water for over 3 years now, which is the most important thing. But there were some real issues: The biggest issue is that USW did not adhere to local electrical codes, and did not arrange for a final inspection of the project. So we didn't find out that it wasn't to code until years later, and now it's a big hassle and minor cost to fix and get the permits. Ask your local gov yourself what you need to do for permits and inspections; don't rely on USW! USW said they would seal any foundation cracks found along the way; they didn't do this until I bugged the warranty dept about it (but they did do it eventually). USW sent someone out for the "annual checkup"... over 2 years after the install. It's a good thing they (eventually) did, because they discovered the backup battery wasn't charging. Now I know to check this stuff better myself. Prices also vary wildly and are kind of negotiable (I'd give more detail but I'm out of space)"

"We are so impressed with Everseal. They installed a sump pump and interior drainage tiles in our basement in March of 2021. The job took only four days. The employees worked extremely hard to install the pump, interior drain tiles and window well drains. The young men, who removed debris from the basement in buckets and returned with fresh cement, literally ran in and out of the house to complete the job. They were amazing. They then brought their own hose to wash down any residue on our sidewalk and driveway. They took great care to keep the dirt and dust to a minimum. As they broke up the concrete floor, they used a powerful exhaust fan that vented to the outside through one of our basement windows. For additional protection, they wrapped the furnace with plastic sheets and hung plastic sheets around the basement enclosing the work area. They then made a tunnel with plastic from the basement door to the upstairs front door. Yes, there was dust that reached the upstairs. But, without their careful concern for our home, it could have been much worse. After the project was finished, we washed our walls upstairs and they were fine. The dust that reached the upstairs was easily cleaned.   They were price competitive and always went the extra mile to answer our questions.  A month after the installation, they returned to install a gasket and aluminum strips around the flange in the area where we do occasional woodworking. They did not charge for this service. And, they kept a vacuum operating to capture the dust while they were drilling the small holes in the concrete. The results look great. They also removed their shoes before entering our home and then wore booties to keep the dirt in the basement. Again, it is their attention to detail that sets them apart from others.  Everseal is a top notch company and deserves an A++ rating!"

25 years of experience

We are a small business run by two partners, Chris Harris and Rob Burgert, who between them have over 40 years' experience in all types of remodeling, construction, and home maintenance and improvement. At times we do employ additional subcontractors depending on the size of the job and timeline. We provide free estimates and will also work on a time and materials basis at a fixed hourly billing rate. We take payment through PayPal, cash, or check currently. We plan to add credit card payment options in the future. We do not provide financing, but we will work with your financing company to help you secure your financing. Our process includes seeing your project in person to give you an accurate estimate, at which time we will measure, discuss materials, timing, and budget. We will then either give you an instant quote on the spot or provide a more detailed quote within a week depending on the scope of the work. We typically ask for a down payment before we start work which can be anywhere from 25% to 50% depending on the size of the job. For example, if we quote you a price of $2,000 for your project we will ask for $1,000 down. If the quote is for $10,000, we will ask for $2,500 down to start. Additional payouts will come at completion of specific stages. With smaller jobs under $500 we typically will ask for payment upon completion with a signed contract. Change orders are initiated by the customer and billed with the last payment. All change orders are approved and signed off by the homeowner before the additional work is incorporated into the project. For homeowners who are not familiar with the remodeling process, we are happy to sit down and discuss all the steps involved and materials. We will even help the homeowner shop for finish goods like flooring and tile. For instance, some types of tile are preferred for some applications than others. We use our expertise to assist the homeowner with those choices.

Foundation Repair questions, answered by experts

Most of the time, normal foundation settling will present as thin cracks in the foundation and minor creaks in the floorboards. In contrast, you can identify foundation issues by wide or uneven foundation cracks, horizontal or step-shaped gaps on the foundation wall, or cracks that go around corners of your foundation. Foundation problems can also cause changes in your living area, like increased humidity, uneven or sloping floors, nail pops in drywall, countertops pulling away from the wall, and windows and doors getting stuck. When in doubt, call in a professional to identify the underlying cause.

Yes, you can live with a cracked foundation—in fact, most people do. Virtually all foundations crack from normal settlement, and while settling cracks benefit from sealing to prevent water and moisture intrusion, most aren’t an issue. If you have structural cracks in your foundation, it might be safe to live in your home for some time, but you should address them immediately to prevent structure collapse and major property damage.

Yes, it’s worth it to repair a crawl space foundation, even if the issue seems relatively minor. Foundation problems often get worse and more expensive to fix if you leave them untreated. Additionally, your entire home, from the framing and flooring to the roof system, relies on the foundation for even and level support. Issues with your foundation will almost always manifest as problems in and above your living space, so it’s important to find a solution.

Foundation problems will likely get worse over time if they aren’t repaired. As foundation problems progress, your home may experience signs of structural damage, water damage, and health and safety risks—all of which will only get more expensive to fix the longer you wait. Repair foundation problems as soon as you’re aware of them to avoid complex and expensive remediation in the future.

It can be safe to live in a house with minor foundation problems as long as the issues are checked and monitored by a professional. Minor cracks are rarely a cause for structural concerns, but signs of leaks, sinking, or bulging walls should be strongly scrutinized by a foundation specialist. Similarly, it's always smart to hire a professional when you're concerned about buying a house with foundation repairs.
