"My shower was in sad shape with broken tiles and needing re grouting. It looks amazing!, Not only was he able to replace broken tiles, but when he was finished grouting it looked brand new. Would definitely recommend this company."

"Sergey was very professional and excellent with communication. He showed us designs so we could see exactly how our choice of tile would look in different patterns. Michael is a true artist and carried out the work with precision. I am delighted with the tile installation. The whole area was cleaned and looked fantastic when they finished. I highly recommend Prospectile and I will be calling them for all future tile projects."

Customers say: Quality work

"Dave was excellent installing a marble tile backsplash in our kitchen - prompt, on time, and gave great attention to detail, even though job probably went longer than he expected. Looking forward to having Dave back to work on bathrooms and some painting.!"

"We are coming up on 8-9 months and the little things aren't finished. I am home 24/7 and have told Dan several times they can come any day. Quarter round is missing from half a room, thresholds for my outside door is missing, face plates for outlets were never replaced. Also the luxury flooring installed has issues with the seam, it has already been fixed once and is apart again. I don't have a great feeling of it being long lasting now. Dan and his crew did a lot of work for me and I greatly appreciated his staff and crew. I just cannot get ahold of this company, after 3 final tries with no reply, here I am."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

When choosing between porcelain and ceramic tile, the best option depends on your specific needs, budget, and project application. Porcelain tile is generally more durable, denser, and harder than ceramic, making it a good choice for busy, high-traffic areas. It also offers superior moisture resistance, making it ideal for moisture-retaining spaces. However, porcelain is typically more expensive, and its hardness can make it brittle, potentially causing it to crack if a heavy object is dropped on it. In contrast, ceramic tile is a more budget-friendly option with lower material and installation costs. It is softer and easier to work with, making it a great choice for DIY projects. While not as durable as porcelain, ceramic is still a quality material suitable for many home applications, particularly small, decorative projects.

Solvents dissolve tile adhesive, but the right solvent for the job depends on what type of adhesive you are trying to remove. For instance, dispersion adhesive requires stronger removers, like bile soap or even paint stripper, but some adhesives, like cement-based products, can come off with water and soap or mortar remover.

Tile floor installation usually takes about 16 hours of active work along with a couple of days of drying time between tile and grout applications.

The amount of time it takes your installer will depend on many factors, including the square footage of the space, the tile material type, and if they need to make intricate tile cuts.

Yes, unfortunately, it is normal for wall and floor tiles to crack, especially when you drop heavy items on tiled floors or place heavy objects on them. Tiles are also more susceptible to cracking when ceramic tiles designed for walls are installed on floors, as these are often not strong enough to handle heavy loads from foot traffic and furniture. Similarly, tiles that are installed incorrectly, lack adequate subflooring, or have other installation problems are prone to cracking. To avoid these problems and the inevitable repair and replacement costs they bring, always hire a professional for tile work and follow best practices for installation.

For glass tile, you want to use unsanded grout. Sanded grout is a stronger and grittier cement grout that is great for installing tiles with wider gaps and into joints. However, it is susceptible to scratching glass tile and is more difficult to use in thinner gaps. Unsanded grout, while more expensive, is easier to fit between thin gaps and is less harsh on delicate materials, like glass tile.
