Small jobs welcome

"We had extensive landscaping done all around our house and yard. We needed all old rocks and bricks removed from clear around our home and new bricks and landscaping rocks replaced. Also they removed a tree and dug out all of the roots so they could plant a new tree. We had 9 new trees planted with stones around them and new landscaping rocks. They also put in drip lines and new irrigation heads. We had 3 very large trees that needed bricks, concrete and rocks removed around them and replaced with new stones and rocks. They refigured some new landscaping in our front yard. After completing the landscaping they seeded our whole yard. Everyone was extremely professional and friendly. They did a fantastic job. Even with everything they did it was done in extremely hot 90 degrees. They showed up on time and worked very hard to complete the job. I highly recommend this company they were excellent with everything they did."

"We had a big project in place for our deck and they went above and beyond for our expectations. Project took longer than planned due to the weather but they finished it on a holiday! Terry communicated with us the entire process and ensured the deck was finished to perfection! We could not be more pleased with how our deck turned out!"

"Very well. Ben had to travel quite a distance to get here but he arrived ahead of schedule. He discussed a few options for completion, offered a recommendation when asked and worked steadily and efficiently to get the job done. He cleaned the area after and left no trace of the messy task he completed. His friendly, respectful manner was an added bonus. I would definitely recommend and/or rehire him for subsequent masonry work."

"Mr. Davis came when we agreed.
He did the work two days later.
His brother Matt met with me and explained everything.
They are very honest and straight guys.
I am planning on using them again in a couple of weeks.

Fencing questions, answered by experts

No, fence posts aren’t always set in concrete. If you don’t want to use concrete footings for your posts, expanding foam is a popular alternative. Expanding foam and concrete each have certain pros and cons. For instance, foam is easier to install and more sustainable, but concrete is sturdier and less expensive.

The cheapest farm fences are typically wire fences, which cost less to install than traditional lumber fences. Barbed wire is one of the most inexpensive options due to its simple materials, making it a good choice for low budgets. It is suitable for confining docile animals in large spaces, as it provides a visual barrier and a mild deterrent. Other options like hog wire and woven wire fences are also cost-effective because they require less lumber than a full wooden fence. These types of wire fences are strong, long-lasting, and relatively easy to repair, though they are often considered less aesthetically pleasing than wood.

While they can be closer, the maximum distance between fence posts for residential fences is 8 feet. This ensures the panels are adequately supported by the fence posts. This is usually dictated by the width of the panel, which is typically between 5 and 8 feet. While narrower panels will require more posts, they’ll be lighter and easier to work with than wider panels that are the same height.

A horizontal fence is typically more expensive to build than a vertical fence, often costing between 10% and 20% more. The higher cost is due to the need for a higher grade of lumber and more posts to prevent the boards from sagging, which increases both material and labor expenses. Despite the higher price, horizontal fences tend to be more durable and offer a more distinct, modern look compared to the more common vertical picket style. However, they may not be the best option for privacy, as there can be slight gaps between the horizontal rails.

A split rail fence is not typically considered among types of dog fencing. Many dogs are small enough to slip out between or under rails, and dangerous pests like coyotes can slip in. However, adding wire mesh to a split rail fence can add the security needed for dog safety without compromising the timeless look that makes the split rail style appealing.
