"We had a big project in place for our deck and they went above and beyond for our expectations. Project took longer than planned due to the weather but they finished it on a holiday! Terry communicated with us the entire process and ensured the deck was finished to perfection! We could not be more pleased with how our deck turned out!"

"Very well. Ben had to travel quite a distance to get here but he arrived ahead of schedule. He discussed a few options for completion, offered a recommendation when asked and worked steadily and efficiently to get the job done. He cleaned the area after and left no trace of the messy task he completed. His friendly, respectful manner was an added bonus. I would definitely recommend and/or rehire him for subsequent masonry work."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

When considering how much of a gap should be under a fence or gate, a good rule of thumb is to keep gaps between 2 and 5 inches tall. This allows for some ground clearance for the gate but still provides safety for children and pets, who shouldn’t be able to squeeze through a gap of that size.

Glass has one of the longest lifespans of any fencing materials, lasting anywhere from 10 to 30 years on average. Just how long your glass fence lasts depends on several factors, including how well you maintain your fence, the climate, and the type of glass you use.

If you live somewhere with severe weather like hail, tornadoes, or hurricanes, expect your glass to have a shorter lifespan. Pool glass is one of the thickest tempered glass materials and may last longer than other options—especially compared to laminated glass.

Fences made out of redwood, cedar, or pressure-treated pine are the most durable. These materials can last anywhere between 15 to 40 years so long as they are properly maintained. Make sure to clean your fence regularly and pressure wash once a year. After pressure washing, apply a sealant and/or fresh paint to keep it looking fresh.

Vinyl or PVC fences offer low-maintenance features, weather resistance, and diverse style options, ideal for security and privacy without extensive upkeep.

To maintain a chain link fence and extend its lifespan, perform routine checks and cleaning. This includes inspecting for rust, tightening any loose bolts or hardware, and removing debris buildup. These steps help preserve the fence's appearance and function.
