"Jimâ  s crew was diligent in preparing the home for paint; scraping old pain, caulking of windows and between boards, and repairing or sanding of rotted wood to get to solid wood. Jim did a great job in matching previous paint and the material utilized will last through many hot Summers and cold winters. The paint application with paint sprayers and brushes was executed very well. Jimâ  s got a great crew and worked to get the project completed on time. Jim was available through the entire project and weâ  re happy with the project. Iâ  m sure weâ  ll use Jim and Next Level again and please reach out if you need any help on making a decision on Jimâ  s team"

"Project was to build a fence. These people are exceptional in their work. They worked very hard to build our fence in cold and windy weather. They built a great fence it looks and is very professional looking. Would recommend them to anyone anytime. Duke is a very good carpenter and it shows in the work him and Kelese did. There was a squeak in one of the gates they made and I said I didn't mind but they cared and fixed it so it now longer squeaked."

"Concept Til Creation removed an existing fence and installed a new fence our entire backyard in September 2020. When they came to quote job, they were very thorough in explaining the process of the work and how the new fence would be constructed. They were very timely in getting the estimate back to us, as well as scheduling the job once we gave them the go ahead. During the teardown and installation, they would check in daily to update us on the progress of the project. The actual project timeline followed what was quoted and the new fence looks great!! We will be hiring them again for other projects. We highly recommend Concept Til Creation!!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The average lifespan of a wood fence is 15 to 20 years, but some can last for 40 years or more depending on several factors. The type of wood is crucial; for example, untreated pine may only last 5 to 10 years, while pressure-treated pine can last up to 20 years, and cedar's natural resistance can extend its life to 40 years. Other factors include local weather conditions, with wet and windy climates causing faster deterioration, and the quality of maintenance. Higher-end wood, metal posts, and privacy fence styles also tend to last longer.

The ideal spacing for four-by-four residential fence posts is usually about 6 to 8 feet between posts. However, if the fence is particularly high or you live in a very windy region, you might want to space them closer together for better stability. A fence pro can help you decide on your post spacing.

A setback is an area of space between your fence and the property line, meaning you build a fence a few inches before your neighbor’s property begins. You can build your fence on a setback—some communities recommend this—but this means a sliver of your property will be on your neighbor’s side of your fence.

There are two things you can do to make a fence replacement easier—but keep in mind that easier doesn’t mean better. First, you can use a jack or some other type of machinery to pull the post out of the ground. If that’s not available, a digging bar can help.

Second, you can backfill the hole with gravel rather than creating a concrete footing. Keep in mind, gravel is less secure. You should only use it if you’re installing a lightweight fence or have heavier, clay soil.

Vinyl fencing stays popular with homeowners because it’s durable and aesthetically pleasing. In addition to offering plenty of privacy, vinyl fences have a life span of 20 to 30 years with minimal maintenance. You don’t have to worry about these fences warping or rotting due to moisture, and this material doesn’t contain toxic chemicals.
