"I just pay $75 you never know who's going to come out. They do everything electrical. Just about everything is covered except the septic tank. I had an air conditioner replaced. It went great, all I had to do was pay for the freon. He didn't charge e more than what was needed."

You can add three rotten tomatoes or 1/4 ounce of yeast to your septic tank to speed up the decomposition of sludge. You can add the tomatoes by way of your garbage disposal and the yeast by way of your toilet. You can do either of these additives once every three months as needed.

Depending on local conditions, a deep well may be a better choice than a shallow well. Deeper well depth accesses groundwater that has been naturally filtered through many layers of soil and rock. This reduces surface contaminants and may offer cleaner water, but deep wells cost more money to build and maintain. The water may be harder and have higher radioactivity, too. 

Bladder and diaphragm well pressure tanks are usually pre-charged at the factory. Even so, it’s important to check the air pressure in the tank using a tire pressure gauge on the relief valve. The instruction manual usually calls for 28 psi. Use a hand pump to add more air or release some air from the tank to reach the desired number. Expect to take at least a day to drill your own well by hand. For a 500-foot well, this could take even longer, depending on the makeup of the soil and the terrain you are drilling through.
