King Paving was one the best contractors I have ever hired. They were on time and knew exactly what had to be done. The new drive that was installed is outstanding and would certainly hire them again. I don't see how anyone could ever complaint about this company. George Krebs Byron, il 6-19-20

The driveway (put in August 2018) seems solid but the sealcoat (July 2019) has rubbed off and scuffed in several places. King Blacktop is difficult to work with: poor communication, no follow through on reported problem and lack of attention to detail. King requires a check up front and holds it until the work is done. In our case it was about 2 months with little or no status given in the meantime. At one point we got a rude phone message telling us they were behind schedule and please don't bother them with phone calls because they too busy (to talk to us). We scheduled seal coat with them because their literature said if we didn't we had no recourse if problems developed later. The first time they called to notify us they were coming to do the seal coat our driveway was unavailable because of an ongoing garage sale. We were rudely told that we would go to the bottom of the list. When we finally got the sealcoat we noticed that after a few weeks the sealcoat was rubbing off in some areas. In one place the scuff goes down to the aggregate. I called several times and asked for a solution and got a lot of run around about how they were going to confer with the owner and the guy that applied the seal coat, and maybe it was too hot and the seal coat softened and maybe a heavy vehicle caused this, but a solid answer was not forthcoming. After complaining several times I got a message about how they changed their sealcoat application method to apply more sealcoat and that we should tell people not to turn their wheels on the driveway on a hot day without the vehicle moving. Very disappointing. Best to steer clear of these guys. They did nothing to address our problem.

I am happy with the quality but the service is bad. I signed a contract early in the spring but work was not performed until July. King was supposed to seal coated the new blacktop in 60 days but they called and said they couldn't do it until next year. I told them to remove me from their customer list as I will not use them again.

King's business practices leave much to be desired. No communication by phone or email so we were in the dark when the work was to be performed.

Contractor did extremely poor job on our driveway.  He left brown streaks all over driveway when he was finished.  We questioned him and he said they were from the dust left on the roller when they finished rolling the stone  before they rolled the hot asphalt and they would wash off with the rain.  They will not come off as they were rolled into the hot asphalt . Now the only way we can get the driveway to look new and without all the streaks is to have it sealed.  the problem is that the driveway has to cure which takes 2 to 3 months.  So we have to live with the streaks until then.  He widened our driveway without telling us and without our approval.  He thought it would look better.  We have an underground watering system in our front yard which was discussed before any of the work was started.   He was told where the sprinkler heads were so that he could take care not to damage them with the equipment they were using. The sprinkler heads are about 8 inches in from both sides of the driveway.  When he proceeded to widen the driveway he  covered over one of the heads with blacktop.  We questioned him about it and he said to call a sprinkler company to have them move the heads.  I asked him to pay for it and he said "no way".  We called him several times asking for him to take responsibility for the problems he has caused.  On the last of our conversations he called my husband and me specifically a stupid assinine nut job and not to call him again or he would call the sheriff.  We the Donatos will allow ourselves to be subjected to a polygraph test paid for by ourselves, to attest that everything we have said above is the absolute truth. We have many photos of the surface right after Mr King left to show the horrible job that he did.  We also have at least 10 signatures from local neighbors that will verify that they also say the driveway appearance is very very bad.
