"Posts were put in as scheduled despite poor weather. The chain-link portion was slightly delayed due to weather and the need for the posts to have more setup time which I agreed with and thought was the smart thing to do. The guys had good attention to detail and made sure we agreed with how the fencing turned out around a couple of trees."

"This the second fence I have had SP Fence install. They did an excellent job on this fence just like they did on the first fence. The first fence is now 7 years old and still looks great. They did 2 maintenance visits on the first fence and both were great. If I need a third fence in the future I am definitely calling SP Fence, nice people, quality work, good price."

"Tim was great.  Came in and showed us difference types of fencing.  Gave us a great deal on a fence.  The guys came out to install a few weeks later.  Our job was a tough one with all of the rocks in our soil.  They had to hand dig the holes for the posts.  Took them 2 days because of this.  They came back bright and early on Saturday (a holiday weekend at that).  It looks amazing!  We were very happy with Northwest.

"Installed fence while I was out of town. Due to this there was a little confusion on a couple things, but after contacting Jeff his crew came out and fixed my concerns within a couple days of our phone conversation. I am pleased with the final product and as long as Aspen sticks to their word on the guarantee of their work I will continue to be a happy customer. I would recommend Aspen to anyone, but I would just say to make sure both parties are clear on what needs to be accomplished to avoid any issues.

"My initial call went to voice mail and I left a message.  I did get a return phone call pretty quickly and a time was set up for Lucas to come and look at the project.  He was very pleasant on the phone, but he never showed up.  Two subsequent phone calls got no response.  I can only assume that he wasn't interested in the job.  It would have been nice if he had just said that so I could start looking for someone else right away.

"Rick was very professional and timely. He came out on the morning he said he would and replaced and repaired the posts as discussed during his initial estimate visit. He was in contact with us through the entire process. I would certainly recommend him to all of my family and friends. Great guy to work with!"

"I accidentally requested fencing quotes from a bunch of companies and Panorama wasn’t in the original group I thought I sent a request to. The good news was that Manny responded quickly and came out to give me a quote right away. He replied to every call, text or email which is a rarity these days. He won my business not only with a competitive quote but also with his responsiveness and communication. His craftsmanship was good and he accommodated all of my requests. My neighbor and I both did our fences together and the outcome looks great. I would definitely rehire Panorama for future work."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Removing fence posts that are set in concrete is something you can't do by hand. You will need an excavator, a strong post-puller, or a jackhammer. If you plan on recycling the concrete base, you may be able to cut the post out with a jackhammer and then set the new post in the existing base. However, it's usually better to remove both the fence post and concrete together. Due to the weight of concrete, you will need a hydraulic removal tool.

In most cases, trees need to be protected from deer all year round. This is especially true if you want to protect small trees from deer or if you just planted some fresh, new trees. Once a tree is a few years old, you likely do not have to worry about protecting it from deer as it will be stronger and can handle a little damage.

You'll pay less on average for the cost of a wooden fence compared to aluminum. However, the price highly depends on the type of wood, the fence design, and extra additions like gates and coats of paint. For example, you may pay less to install an aluminum fence since the panels anchor in the ground, whereas wood fences often take longer to construct, especially picket fences.

Most people prefer to keep the fence level by “stepping” the fence when running a horizontal fence over a slope. Stepping involves raising each panel between the posts as the fence moves over changes in slope, giving the fence line the appearance of stair steps. While this may be the preferred method of running a horizontal fence up a slope, there’s nothing wrong with installing your fence so it follows the undulations in the ground instead.

The most common hog wire gauge for a fence is 12.5. However, you can choose from a few gauges based on your needs. While 12.5 is a reliable gauge for penning in large, strong animals, 9 gauge is a better option of you have large animals that are easily spooked, such as horses. For smaller animals, like dogs or pigs, you can use a 16 gauge hog wire.
