The reason I removed one star is because I believe the quoted contract price, specifically for allowances, can improve. You should expect to add a minimum of $20,000 to your contract price. I also recommend referring to your contract throughout to ensure you aren’t getting an extra charge for something that should be included. Like I said, the quality of work is fantastic, but the up front pricing can improve."

"Vaclav Valek is the owner, he was one of 5 contractors I hired to provide professional advice on how to fix framing in the attic. One of the contractors never called back, and several others provided much different solutions. He provided the most honest solution without charging an arm an leg. Since I was under severe budget constraints he worked with me and had me gather the materials saving time and money for the both of us. He performed the work in one afternoon and provided good communication throughout the process."

"I called Jakubek earlier in the year to get a quote for a kitchen remodel. I had a few requests for the remodel: take down a wall, get more counter and cabinet space and install a dishwasher (finally after 12 years in my house without one!). Dawid and Robert came out to my home and discussed with me what I wanted, took measurements and said they would need a few days to come up with a design. They gave me recommendations of websites to start looking at finishes and suggested I start thinking of what I would want for floors, counters, cabinets, etc. A few days later, they came back with an awesome design that incorporated all of the requests in a beautiful and functional manner. They gave me digital renderings of what it would look like and a fully detailed quote that was affordable in within my budget. To be honest, it came back on the lower end of my budget so I called them back and added to the scope of the work. We worked together to adjust the design to my liking and once it was perfect, we signed the contract. Through the whole process, the Jakubek team was extremely communicative and helpful in the planning process. They listed to what I wanted and helped me achieve it. Every time I had a question, it was answered quickly and honestly. Although I picked all the finishes and colors myself, Dawid was always helpful in giving me honest opinions on whether what I picked would work and be functional in my new kitchen. He soon became a trusted advisor and I felt very confident in his recommendations. He kept me informed of the work happening on the project every day. I really appreciated the communication! They worked very efficiently and professionally. Always punctual. At the end of every day, my home was left in an organized and clean manner and they completed all the work in logical order so that the progress flowed properly. All the details were completed just as they had promised and I was really impressed with their craft. It was really enjoyable to watch it all come to reality. So I started with a kitchen remodel and ended up with a beautifully renovated home. I mentioned before that I added to the scope of work in the beginning and then added again two more times! Each time I requested the additional work, Dawid would give me all the details on cost and how it would effect the completion date. So not only did I have the kitchen done (including all new wood cabinets and quartz counters, took down the wall and moved the footprint/layout of the kitchen), I had new hardwood floors installed on my first level and had existing hardwood floors and stairs refinished on my second floor. They painted my entire first floor and upstairs hallway, installed all new trim on my doors and windows on my first and second floor and replaced all my doors too! I literally have a new house thanks to Jakubek!"

"The team from Modern Quality Flooring excelled at every step of the process of redoing nearly every floor in our new house. We redid our entire first floor of hardwood and our entire basement with new vinyl lux flooring. We discovered some bumps in the road - upon removing some rugs, some very large plywood patches showed up. The basement floor, once the carpet came up proved to be less than level and the stairs needed to be patched up. Everything was done so well that it's hard to imagine it's the same house. The flooring work they did was transformational. Despite the complicated and numerous hardwood patches in several rooms, you can't tell they're not the original floors. The workmanship is flawless. We felt completely comfortable from the initial meeting with them. They were excellent at communicating things before, during and upon completion of the work. This crew showed up every day and notified us if they were not going to come or if they were delayed.They also pointed out and/or were able to troubleshoot areas of design that wouldn’t look aesthetically pleasing. In addition, they cleaned up the interior each day and regularly picked up construction waste placed in the garage during this process."

"I had the carpeting replaced in one of the bedrooms. Expo sent me sample photos of carpets by email so I could choose a carpet over the phone. Dina, the salesperson, was very helpful. The installer was terrific. He got there right on time and took out the old carpeting and hauled it away and then installed the new carpet in two hours.It looks beautiful. I'm really pleased with the service I got. I have used Expo several times before and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone."
