It did not go well! He left paint on the floor, vanity, and on the faucet in the tub. I have reached out them and they will not correct any mistakes. I would not use them again and would not recommend them. Update as of 3/24/17, the company came back and sanded down the sharp points on the bottom of the tub, but there is still standing water in the bottom of the tub around the drain. The finish they left doesn't look good either.

While typically such refinishing jobs last for several years, unfortunately the finish has come off in about two years. I have left messages for the company but have not heard back. I paid 279$ + travel charge to Hanover Park.

The initial work required two visits to complete. Shortly after that, the new finish began peeling away. This required a third visit to complete the job. Eight months later peeling occurred again, and A&M needed to return for a fourth visit under warranty. The 8-month rework was very poor in quality, but I accepted it and was happy just to have the warranty honored. Seven months after the warranty rework also began peeling. A&M has explained to me that my warranty expired 12 months from the original completion date, regardless of the fact that it needed to be redone eight months later. I cannot in good conscience recommend A&M unless you enter into the arrangement understanding that the work they do might require rework and it is unlikely to outlive the warranty period by much if at all. We followed all provided care instructions.

They came out when they said they would. They took a little while to come out. They didn't charge me anything extra. The prep that was needed in order for them to do the work was not properly communicated. We went over with them what we felt needed to be done for the prep work. We still felt like they were not ready for the work. It was absolutely ridiculous. He needs to be able to communicate properly.

Service person was polite and a nice guy but the final result was not good. There are little flecks in the surface that weren't there before. He suggested we pay an additional $100 for an extra hard coating on the tub. For $400 that should have been included. We had the tub resurfaced once before for less and it was an excellent job that lasted many years. This doesn't look like it will last more than a month. I think all he did was put on a thin coat. I feel like this was a bait and switch tactic.

"Hello Thanks for the review our records show that you purchased a special offer from Angies List which included 3 quarter size chip repairs with a choice between 2 colors. We found during our inspection you had a rusted out drain including overflow and more then 16 chips within the old coating and porcelain fixture. This requires more service then you purchased. Our Technician in the name of giving you a quality job removed all rust found on fixture and repaired at least 16 chips all for no added fee. Then he recommended a high build primer coating which you can purchase within a package from our website ( AMPROFESSIONALREFINISHING.COM ) Unfortunately non of the current or past offers on Angies List include this service. The technician explained in detailed the benefits of this service and you choice NOT TO MOVE FORWARD with any of our recommendations that would of improved the final results. We take great pride in our work and strive to give all our customers the highest quality projects but we can not make you upgrade something that you say you do not want and we will never push any of our customers to purchase any service. Last thing we can say is we did give you a warranty and we will be happy to post your before and after photos on our website along with all the others. Thanks Again A&M PROFESSIONAL REFINISHING"

Sloppy work around the drain....shortly after work was performed some of the paint (yes, they use paint) began peeling. My niece's husband called a few times to have them come out and repair it but they did not do this. I definitely wouldn't recommend them since they do not follow up on their warranty. After a few attempts to get them to come out, my niece's husband gave up, and they will be getting a new tub soon.

It didn't go well. He was supposed to regulate the whole thing and he decided to do some other coating that we could do and after he left about a week or 2, it started peeling on the areas that he was supposed to cover. Since then I've been trying to contact them over Angie's List. He never really called back. We even checked on some pictures posted on Angie's List so we haven't really heard back from the person or the company. There were some areas he was supposed to cover and it started peeling again. Initially they came in pretty fast but after that, obviously they haven't called or showed up. He was on time whenever he said. If a customer complains about something, it's really their job to make sure that they get a hold of the customer rather the customer chasing them. I want him to come in and fix what he did, but I would not recommend this person to anybody else.

"Hi thanks for your review,unfortunately it's not accurate. When we first completed your project we informed you that your drain area held water and would need to be dried by hand if still wet 1 hour after use. The coating isn't designed to be submerged for hours or days. We also gave you care and maintenance instructions in writing which our technician also verbally went over with you before departing. We then returned when you called for same repair which had been your initial problem which was water hanging out around your drain due to shape of bathtub and the way the drain was installed. We repaired this damage for no extra charge and again reminded you that you should follow the care and maintenance instructions #9 this part gives you details on what you can do to help prevent said problem with water around drain. In all of our contact you have never kept dry or waxed around the drain. We are happy to return and repair again but there is a fee since instructions were not followed. You can go to our website for all care and maintenance and other instructions."

The initial deal included non-skid surface. The provider really pressed the idea of not doing the non-skid. I felt very pressured to make a decision on the spot. He should have mentioned this when we spoke on the phone before the work started. Initially the finish looked pretty good. It has been 6 months and there a few chips on the surface and I didn't even drop anything more than a plastic bottle in the tub.

"Hi thanks for your review, Our technician only provided you with the pros and cons of the non-skid bottom so you would be a more informed consumer on our product. This was never intended to pressure you in any way. We Apologize for the misunderstanding. As far as dropping a bottle and the finish chipping you can drop a bottle inside of a brand new bathtub and this can happen bottles are made of a solid plastic and the hardness of this plastic can damage any surface. Dropping shaving handles and bottles are the leaking cause of damage within bathtubs. Please see our website for more information . Thanks"

This was a big deal purchase. It was good. The gentleman was very thorough and good at what he did. He was very safe and did all the venting. I had two different options of white and I did not realize that picking the paint to match my toilet would be the easiest. My toilet was one color white and now my tub is the other color of white. I feel like as a professional their technician should have told me what color my toilet was so I could have matched it. It ended up being really slippery and I thought I had paid for a non slip guard. Literally it is so slippery that I don't use it. I am on my second bath mat which makes it less slippery, but I still don't feel safe in the tub. The tub drain needed to be repaired at the time because now it has gotten rusty and I think that is an additional service that a plumber has to do now.
