"Rogelio and the team were excellent and very professional. They were able to make it out in one day and complete the asbestos removal within a few hours. Every step of the process was explained to me first and I was given a chance to safely check on the progress along the way. Cost was very reasonable."

"Primarily influenced by the aftermath of our home purchase, we were highly disappointed with the quality and accuracy of the inspection provided by Kevin at Dynamic, and would not recommend their services. We trusted that Dynamic would provide a thorough inspection with a critical focus on protecting us from major issues – this was clearly not the case, and the shortcomings of the inspection have left us having to pay tens of thousands of dollars out-of-pocket to remedy. Specifically in the context of the roof and HVAC, due to circumstances that could and should have been avoided, we now find ourselves in a discouraging and extremely costly situation. Overall, as we continue to work through issues daily and try to recoup our losses from issues that a subject matter expert should have been able to identify, we feel the inspection was critically underwhelming and insufficient, and left us exposed with a false sense of security when it should have helped protect us."

30 years of experience

Legacy Inspection Group was founded in 1995 by a single home inspector and has since evolved into a full service firm offering home inspections, radon testing, and mold testing in the Chicago area. The company now features six experienced home inspectors, three certified mold technicians, and five state licensed radon technicians serving all of Chicagoland and southern Wisconsin. In 2003 Legacy Inspection Group founded Home Inspection Training Services, a State of Illinois licensed education provider offering education for individuals looking to obtain an inspection license as well as established home inspectors seeking continuing education.

"They did a poor, incomplete job. Missed some clear patchwork on the exterior of the house that was clearly there because either the previous owners or contractors did a terrible job on the foundation. Had they caught this (which every other contractor and water proofing companies said they should have) we could have avoided all these new costs. I would avoid them at cost."

Yes, most services include testing the generator to ensure functionality. Confirm with your provider.

Through air sampling devices and surface swabs in key areas of concern.

If your home has a sump pit, you can integrate it with a radon mitigation system. You can accomplish this by sealing the pump cover with an airtight lid that accommodates radon vent pipes and sump pump hoses. This allows the vent pipe to redirect the radon gas outside of your home.

It is worthwhile to get radon testing done, especially if you haven’t in the past and don’t have active radon monitoring set up in your home. According to the American Lung Association, radon is a potential issue in all states, and testing is the best way to determine if it’s a current problem in your home. Radon testing includes professional tests that determine ongoing radon levels in your property, and it usually includes a mitigation protocol to help you decide what measures to take to protect your home and household members.

Keeping radon from getting into your home is much better than having to get rid of it once it's already indoors. While there may not be a way to fully prevent radon from getting into your home, there are things you can do to reduce the gas's ability to enter.

Sealing foundation cracks and openings can help keep the gas from seeping inside. Improving air flow, such as by opening windows, can also be helpful. If you're building your home from scratch, talk to your contractor about using radon-resistant construction to keep the gas out.
