"On the first chilly night in late September our boiler didn't kick on.  I called a heating contractor to look at it thinking it was something simple like the pilot light.  Not so easy - the contractor found our chimney completely blocked.  Thankfully, the boiler had shut off when the safety sensor detected blockage and no draft.  I consulted Angie's List and obtained several quotes from chimney repair contractors and hired Chimney USA in Chicago.
Mirna, Arturo and their team were completely responsive from the very start.  Knowing we had no heat they came on a Saturday to assess the job.  Mirna promised a quote the following Monday and she delivered.  We found Mirna and her team to be very knowledgeable and they made common-sense recommendations.  Before we even accepted the proposal Mirna had set aside time in their schedule to make our job a priority in the event we accepted, and the work began two days after we accepted the proposal - on a  Saturday.  In all the job took 4 1/2 days. 
They began by doing an initial clearing of the blockage and then they demolished the old over-sized chimney from the roof line up.  The building is over 100 years old - not sure if the chimney was original or not but it was very old and disintegrated.  After demolition Chimney USA completely rebuilt the chimney, installed 42 feet of stainless liner from top of chimney to basement (building is a two-flat) to replace the completely broken clay liner.  They finished by sealing the chimney at the roof line and installing a chimney cap which we didn't have before and which will minimize debris and animals entering the chimney.  They finished the job by completely cleaning the chimney, the flues and checking for draft. 
During the course of the job they did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it.  They were professional, courteous and meticulous about cleaning up the job site when the job was finished.  And, they showed concern and a sense of urgency knowing that we could not have any heat until the job was done.  We recommend Chimney USA unhesitatingly.
