"Derek and his team were great. We did have a mixture of grass used in the yard because we added a section. They had to use a mix in the main part of the yard because they used the Tall Fescue in the added section instead of the main yard."

"Dakota Riordan, our tech is fantastic and very professional and polite every time he comes out to service our lawn. He talks to us before starting the application to let us know what he was applying to our yard and asked if we had any concerns. Our lawn looks good considering itâ s been so HOT! This young man is a keeper! This is our fourth year with Experigreen and the best lawn care we have used in our 30 years. Thank you for the great service!"

"Great job. Cleared weeds, bushes, and trees. Added mulch and river rocks after laying down plastic. Big job. Spent four days doing work at a fair and reasonable price. Likeable and easy to work with. Will be contacting him for future work."

"I had an issue with the underground sprinkler system not watering my front yard garden. A service provider came out almost immediately and determined that the sprinkler heads were embedded in the dirt and grass. They were identified and freed from the lawn and now the garden is receiving good water regularly. Thank you Water Works."

"Jesus provided excellent communication with us both before and during our paver patio project. Being a self employed contractor for over 35 years myself, this means a lot to me when I hire someone to do our work at my private home. If they keep going in the same direction that they currently are, I think that Goldleaf and Jesus both have a long, successful career to look forward to in the area. Highly recommended."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Armadillos are attracted to water, so a leaky irrigation system or an overwatered lawn can encourage them to move in. They especially like wet areas where they can burrow and loose soil where they can dig for grubs. They are also attracted to dense ground cover, where they can often find food sources.

In the fall, you should aerate the soil, overseed the bare spots, kill weeds, mow the lawn low, and rake your leaves. By boosting your lawn’s health in the fall, your grass will be stronger throughout the winter and come back healthier in the spring. You should also trim your perennials so that they withstand the winter and are ready for new growth in the spring.

Yes, you can absolutely make your own mulch, and there are a few ways to go about it. First, you can lay down pine needles or mulched leaves if you’re mulching in the fall. In the spring and summer, you can use mulched grass clippings. Alternatively, you can lay down a few layers of newspaper in your garden and gently wet the paper to keep it in place.

To prepare your yard for river rocks, smaller rocks may require laying landscape fabric to keep the stones from sinking into the ground while encouraging proper water drainage. You should also clear the land of weeds and larger boulders and, in some cases, test the density of the soil to ensure it can handle the weight.

While a river may seem safer than the street, blowing leaves into the water can cause a lot of problems. Leaves can alter the local ecosystem, encourage bad algae growth and block narrow waterways. In large numbers, leaf debris can lead to fish death events in nearby bays or lakes and require expensive dredging to address. That’s why many cities also ban blowing leaves into water.
