The Kinnucan Company was founded in 1970 to serve tree care needs of select North Shore clientele. Arboriculture is the most demanding specialty in the green industry, and Kinnucan quickly emerged as the area's unsurpassed authority. As the needs of our clients evolved, so did our capabilities and services. We embarked on a long-term plan to become your full-service landscape management firm, hiring and training experts in plant health, hardscapes, and landscape design and construction.

"Do they have arborists? Yes. Does the pruning crew cleanup all the debris? No. I hired Kinnucan to perform three services: Organic Deep Root Feeding; Merit Basal Drench; and Dormant Pruning. The first two services: pretty good. The pruning? Not so much. And that's because the cleanup was...shoddy. I spent over an hour picking up branches and twigs from both my front yard and my neighbor's front yard. Then I looked at the backyard, roof of my garage and roof of my side shed: debris everywhere. And while they were still here, I looked out of my bedroom window and saw them using one of their metal pruning tools to scrape debris off the metal roof of my gazebo; metal on metal. So now I have a cleanup project that I thought would have been included in the price of the pruning. Guess not. Oh, and the arborist who originally came by for a consultation and who recommended the services, stopped by after I mentioned all of this to him. He didn't let me know he was stopping by; rather, he showed-up on my security cameras. Never said a word to me about anything. That's my experience with Kinnucan Tree Experts & Landscape Company."

Wind and storm damage to trees and branches are no problem for our professional staff of storm cleanup experts. In addition we also specialize in: Insect and Disease Control Environmental stress can weaken trees and make them more susceptible to insect and disease attacks, both of which can threaten tree health. Our certified arborists are trained professionals who can diagnose any problem and recommend the best treatment. Cable and Bracing Throughout a tree’s life, its structure may lose strength for one reason or another. If trimming the tree is not enough to prevent it from splitting, consider using a cable or bracing the tree to restore its structural strength again. Pre and Post Construction Consultation Pre and post construction consultations provide a quick means to predict potential damage or evaluate the severity of damage already induced. Seeking the advice from one of our certified arborists before any new construction begins is the best chance for your trees to survive. Environmental Restoration and Maintenance Saving trees has become more cost effective than replacing them. Replacing trees in mature wooded areas is nearly impossible. Restoration, combined with follow-up maintenance, is the best solution. Restoration begins by identifying the invasive species that are depleting mature trees of important nutrients. The invasive species may include buckthorn, rose bushes, and honeysuckle. These species are carefully cut and removed offsite for disposal. The stumps are then treated by a licensed Department of Agriculture applicator with a herbicide mixture to ensure that they do not re-sprout. Forest Preserve districts, home builders, all governmental bodies, and private homeowners need our environmental restoration and maintenance service. Firewood Firewood can be a very easy and effective way to heat your household. Clean Cut Tree Service provides premium quality firewood and offers a delivery service as well. Call us today for a FREE no obligation consultation on all of your tree needs. We are confident that, once you compare our quality, reputation, credentials, and fair pricing, you will choose us..

"This company was amazing. The team that came out to cut down my trees did an awesome job on a large difficult project. They were professional, worked well as a team along with the crane operator. Many of my neighbors even commented on what a great job that was done."

"I ordered a tree on sale for $649 last January. When it arrived I tested it and found that the top section (section #5 ) did not light. They said they would send a new top section. After many calls it arrived in October. I tested the tree again and found section #2 did not light. They agreed to send a replacement tree. Upon receipt of this replacement tree I found assorted branches that didnt light and half of section #2. I "cannibalized" tree #1 to complete #2 except for half of section #2. This resulted in tree #2 being lit except for half of its section #2. I emailed the co. and wanted to return both trees and get a credit on my credit card. I no longer called because the wait times were awful; one time I waited on hold for over an hour to speak to a rep. I said I have a "new" $649 tree that doesnt light completely and I have been working on this for too long. Where is their quality control? They indicated the policy was the tree had to be returned within 30 days to get a refund; how would that be possible?! Especially a tree bought on sale. They emailed me a troubleshooting list of approx. 8 things to do to see if I could fix the problem. I told them this was not in my or my husband;s "wheelhouse" and I was not going to hire a handyman at $40 an hour to see IF he could find the problem. I'm sorry I ordered from this company and hope to prevent anyone else having from the same frustrating experience."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Depending on the severity of the damage, a tree might continue healing for years after a split or a break. Saplings can usually bounce back in the spring in one or two seasons, but larger trees might take a few years to regain their former strength. If your tree is showing strong growth and is not dropping limbs, you can consider it healed after the first two seasons.

There are four common ways to prune a tree correctly: crown thinning, crown reduction, crown raising, and crown cleaning. The method you choose depends on the purpose of pruning. However, making the correct cuts is a vital part of the process, regardless of your method. Pruning incorrectly can damage or even kill the tree. So, you may want to hire a professional tree-trimming company to tackle the task.

Pruning is an effective way to prevent a diseased branch from infecting the rest of the tree. If the infection isn’t caught early enough and the pathogen has spread to the trunk or the majority of the branches though, it is too late to prune off the affected areas and you’ll likely need to remove the tree.

Some fast-acting products can rot a tree stump in four to six weeks. Keep in mind, these products contain harsh chemicals that may prevent regrowth in the area. Other products, like fertilizer that contains lots of nitrogen, can enhance the process and rot a stump in about a year. (This is compared to the ten years it can take naturally for a stump to rot.)

The best way is to start controlling tree height long before it grows too large, via careful pruning through the years. But that’s not always possible. If a tree has become too high or too large, use selective pruning to remove the most troublesome branches, one by one, without topping the tree. Gently shaping a tree like this can, over time, correct problems. You can also find growth inhibitors to spray on a tree to stop it from growing too rapidly, but use these sparingly if at all.
