"HPO did a great job painting/staining the Cedar siding of our home. The work was done ahead of schedule, they cleaned up after themselves, and was reasonable in their pricing! The owner was very knowledgeable and honest."

"Miguel was quick to respond with an estimate which turned out to be the one I chose. When the weather finally turned favorable to do the work he started with a power wash.A few days later he came back with a crew, sanded the deck and applied two coats of Sherwin Williams stain. He finished the project in one day. My deck is approximately 800 sq. Ft. He provided excellent service and quality workmanship."

"After taking a number of bids, I decided to go with Yolis C Painting. All positive reviews are well merited. We had him do some interior painting and the walls look like new. Outside trim: Admittingly, some of the old paint was chipping, but what we did not anticipate was that much of the wood had begun showing signs of rot (we own the house for 40 years). He repaired and painted it. If looking for fair pricing, professionalism, and detail orientated, they are the ones for you!"

Small jobs welcome

"Very happy with Sadot and his family business. He personally answers the phone 24/7 ( not a call center or 3rd party ) You deal directly with the owner. He communicates every day. He power washed old stain off, fixed and repaired bad and rotten wood, re-stained the desk. He followed price quote, he completed in time frame is originally stated, Workmanship of repairs and staining was PERFECT..these guys ( all family members ) are perfectionist, made sure I was a ratified customer, and his price was VERY REASONABLE, The next time I need anything related to painting, or exterior wood repair and finishing, he will be my first and maybe only call because I trust him, and I don't trust most people, but he earned my trust and confidence."

Customers say: True professional

"I would wholeheartedly recommend MNM Painting and would use them again in a minute. I needed extensive drywall repair and painting work done on an apartment building and Guillermo (owner) and the MNM crew worked tirelessly (including weekends) to get the job done, on time, professionally, and at a fair price. Happy to recommend Guillermo and the MNM company, they can do much more than “painting & decorating”!"

"We are getting ready to sell our home. Eric and his team repainted almost the entire interior of the house. It looks great - very contemporary with a new color palette! The workmanship and the finished job are excellent! As important, was the professionalism of the crew - neat, courteous, accommodating! Would recommend them to be a guest professional in your home without reservation."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

If you don’t treat a cedar fence, it will turn from reddish brown to gray over time. You can keep the cedar from graying and retain its attractive, deep red color by sealing your cedar fence with a stain that keeps the wood’s oils in and serves as a barrier against the sun’s UV rays.

Yes, you must thoroughly clean your deck before staining. If you don't, dirt, debris, grease, and mildew can get trapped between the wood and the new stain. This not only looks unsightly but also prevents the stain from penetrating the wood properly, reducing its ability to protect the deck from weather and UV rays. As a result, the stain won't last as long or look as good. Any existing mold or mildew left untreated can continue to grow beneath the new stain, potentially leading to wood rot and structural damage. Always wait at least 48 hours after cleaning for the wood to dry completely before applying stain.

Stains penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry, so you want to avoid moisture. If the wood is wet upon application, or if it rains before the stain dries, the water will soak into the wood and displace the staining solution. This leads to a flaky and blotchy look, which is the opposite of a sumptuous even coat. Once the stain has fully cured, after about 3 days, rain shouldn’t cause you any problems.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.

You’ll need to restrain your deck when you notice fading, cracking, peeling, or mold and mildew over a moderate to large area, or when it’s become especially difficult to clean. As for how often to stain a deck, plan to do it every two to three years or whenever you start to notice extended damage.
