"Excellent work from the first phone call to the completed project! We had Capital Concrete remove the old concrete from part of the driveway and pour new. Leo and his crew showed up on time and got to work. They worked all day and had the project done by 6 pm that evening. They were professional and cheerful. Leo didn't hesitate in answering our questions or explaining the process. They did a fabulous job at a reasonable price! We will hire them again, if we need other concrete work done. "

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is worth repairing concrete cracks. Concrete cracks are normal, and they can be hard to keep from appearing. However, it is worth repairing cracks in concrete for many reasons. For example, it’s possible to repair concrete to the point where the repair is almost invisible. Also, if the crack is left alone, it can become bigger and more expensive to fix over time.

Concrete should be at least 2 inches thick to maintain its stability and quality. Most concrete slabs fall between 4 and 6 inches thick, but you should be careful not to make the new slab too high or heavy. If you're considering a stamped concrete overlay, hire an experienced stamped concrete contractor to determine the ideal concrete thickness.

Like all concrete, pervious concrete is susceptible to cracking due to expansion and contraction from freezing and thawing or heavy weight. Pervious concrete, however, is less likely to crack due to moisture intrusion than traditional concrete since pervious concrete is designed to drain and hold water in the material’s voids.

Pervious concrete should be between 4 and 8 inches thick to drain water properly. Surfaces like parking lots and driveways should be at least 6 inches thick to accommodate the weight of vehicles, while patios and walkways may be poured between 4 and 6 inches thick. There’s no standard for pervious concrete thickness, but in most cases, the more weight the surface will need to hold, the thicker it should be.

Yes, you can repair a cracked concrete patio, although the type of repair and the cost will depend on the type of crack you’re experiencing. You can seal surface cracks yourself for as little as $15 for some concrete crack filler. Uneven or wide cracks may indicate structural issues and require help from professionals. In these cases, costs can climb as high as {MaxCost}, so it’s possible but somewhat expensive to repair.
