"Timely response. Laid out an installation plan that made sense, used some existing infrastructure that would prevent additional cost and overall cost estimate was well within reason. Work effort is ongoing due to adverse weather and trenching requirements. ( I have an electrical/electronics background and degree. I am to old to do the work myself)."

"Connection Electric installed two beautiful chandeliers in my new home. Steve, the owner, is a Master Electrician who provides an amazing, reasonably priced service. He was professional, kind, and fun to work with. When there was a glitch, he offered solutions. I absolutely recommend Connection Electric for great work and customer service. Steve is my new go-to person for any electrical project: he really brightened my day! 𠤩"

"What a great guy. Works fast came to the house did the measurements figured out what type of lighting would be best got us right in to get my wifeâ s dream kitchen completed. Lighting more than satisfies my expectations. Wife loves the lights and the way he wired everything up you canâ t see the wires or brightness of lights from across the room. Even while seated from our dinning area. Highly recommend Daniel owner and professional electrician of Resurrection Electric. The name of the Company also tells you this guy loves Jesus. "The ladies at the office were courteous and professional. Jennifer sent a picture of the person who would be coming to my home; Brad Johnson a Senior Service Technician! I only needed an inspection of my old furnace that was making a strange noise and taking a long time to kick on. He checked it thoroughly, reassured me that it was working, and vacuumed it out. He took the time to answer all my questions; he was friendly. The quirks of the furnace were just 'the nature of the beast,' (my add.). I found a company who's people that I can trust! It was worth every bit of money I paid. They all earned it! Thank you."

"Joe did a great job converting a bedroom into an office. He removed a closet, a door, and carpet. Then installed new flooring, hung drywall and put in a custom door. He was careful to lay down protective coverings over existing floor and carpet. Arrived to work when he said he would, was flexible, and quick to make small changes and/or redo something that wasn't quite right. Charged about the national average for a room remodel. I will be hiring him again for more projects in the future."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Yes, but our analogy with the water hose doesn’t really work here. You see, electrical flow isn’t constant: It ebbs and flows like waves, coming in pulses of power. Hertz measures the rate of change in the flow of electricity, or how often it ebbs and flows. For example, 60Hz means that the electrons pulse through wiring 60 times per second. When they are pulsing, they’re in a brief retreat. Almost all United States equipment is rated for 60Hz.

A C-wire connects your thermostat to your household heating and cooling system to provide continuous 24V power. The furnace's transformer converts household electrical current into this low-voltage power to operate the HVAC system's circuitry. In most configurations, the C-wire connects to the terminals labeled "C" on both the furnace's low-voltage terminal block and the thermostat. In some cases, if a dedicated C terminal is unavailable, the C-wire can be connected to the "G" (fan) terminal at the furnace.

Different fences use different amounts of electricity, but their operating costs are very low overall. Electric fences pull between 4 and 25 watts from the system if you have an average-sized yard. Barring any complicated math, you can expect an average electric fence to cost less than $5 a month to run. Aboveground electric fences, which are not typical for residential use or small animals, can cost more, but you shouldn't notice a significant change in your electric bill.

Smart light switches are designed to work with most traditional light fixtures and wiring. However, there are several compatibility factors to consider. Some smart switches require a neutral wire to function, which may not be present in older homes (typically built before 1985). If you plan to use a dimming feature, ensure your LED bulbs are specifically the dimmable type. Additionally, a stable Wi-Fi connection is necessary for remote control, though some models may use other standards like ZigBee, which would require a compatible smart home hub.

Yes, you can connect two extra outlets (or more) to one outlet if the total load on the circuit allows for it. If you have a 15-amp circuit, electrical code allows up to eight outlets or light switches. But if you’re dealing with outlets in the kitchen and bathroom, you may not be able to have as many. Kitchen and bathroom appliances often need higher amperage. You can also change a single outlet to a double outlet by cutting a larger hole in the drywall and replacing the outlet with a quad receptacle.
