"Todd got back to me very quickly on my request for quotes. He happened to have some open time that very afternoon and he gave me a general quote range based on a few "what if's" as I had a multi-job issue with my plumbing needs. I think the total job was a bit more inclusive than Todd might have anticipated but he got right in there and completed the job quickly (especially considering some of the twists we encountered). Todd is a very experienced plumber who worked ho*** ** my job and he is also very cordial and easy to communicate with. I feel great about the job he did and his parting comments..."if anything doesn't seem to be working appropriately, give me a call." I highly recommend Todd's Plumbing."

"I received a call shortly after submitting a request through Home Advisor. They came out the next day. Matt was very nice both on the phone and in person. He was quick and efficient. Gave me 2 options for clearing my clogged drain and have me the price before he started the work. He was very professional and cleaned up before he left. Great service! Before contacting him, I had called Smith Sewer and they couldn't get to me for 4 days. Golden Rule never called me back. I will recommend Beebe to my friends and family."

Customers say: True professional

"I cannot say enough about what a pleasure it was to work with Andy and how thrilled I am with the finished result in my kitchen. I collected a number of recommendations from friends for other contractors, whom I met with - but, I am so glad I went with Andy. From the start, his communication was exceptional. He gave me a very realistic (and ultimately accurate) timeline and I always knew exactly who was going to be working in my house on what days. No surprises what-so-ever, and when there were some minor unexpected plumbing issues once he opened the walls, Andy set up a time to discuss options with me and presented me with multiple solutions depending on my preferences and budget. There are SO many decision to be made for a large project like this, and as a first time homeowner, I was a bit overwhelmed at first - but Andy did an incredible job guiding me to quality suppliers for materials and helping me through the process all along the way. I never hesitated to ask if I had a question and Andy always took the time to respond and explain things in a way I could understand. Andy did a lot of the work himself, but his sub-contractors were also superb. Despite the fact that my kitchen was completely torn up, the house stayed surprisingly clean, they always left the site in great condition at the end of the day and were very respectful of my time and space. Even though the job was completed a few months ago, Andy has stayed available to me as I have had one or two silly little questions come up - he's been quick to respond and make sure I am satisfied and have the information I need. Andy's pricing and estimate upfront was clear and straight-forward and again, no surprises or anything questionable on that. Very fair cost for the quality of work and professionalism. I will be doing additional work (bathroom remodeling) in the next few years and would not go with anyone else besides Andy & Scott's Home Renewal. Photos are taken from different angles - but it is the same kitchen :)"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

As far as plumbing goes, replacing a kitchen faucet is an entry-level project. That said, you may run into complications. If your faucet is incompatible with your countertop or you have to alter your plumbing, you may want to hire a pro.

Yes, pipes can freeze during the winter months. If temps dip below 20 degrees Fahrenheit for six or more hours, your insulated pipes are more at risk, while uninsulated pipes can freeze if temps fall below 32 degrees for around 12 hours. Exterior pipes are more likely to freeze than interior pipes. The best way to prevent freezing pipes is by insulating your pipes, keeping your home’s temperature above 55 degrees, opening cabinets and doors containing pipes to promote circulation, dripping faucets, and disconnecting hoses.

No, homeowners should never attempt to fix a gas leak themselves. Gas leaks pose serious health and fire hazards. Exposure to leaking gas can make you sick, and accumulated gas can ignite and explode. So always take leaks seriously and seek the help of a pro right away. While you may be able to detect a gas leak, always call a licensed professional to handle repairs and replacements.

While frozen pipes will eventually thaw on their own as temperatures rise, it is not safe to let this happen unattended. As the ice blockage melts, water can become trapped, building up extreme pressure within the pipe. This pressure can cause the pipe to burst, leading to severe water damage, costly leaks, and serious damage to your plumbing system. It is best to handle frozen pipes as quickly as possible. If you do not see any visible damage, you can try to slowly warm the pipes by increasing warm air circulation or applying warm towels. However, if you spot any leaks or damage, you should call a plumber immediately. The best course of action is always to take preventative measures to stop pipes from freezing.

The type of sealant you use on a leaking pipe will depend on the pipe material and the cause of the leak. PVC P-traps should avoid petroleum-based sealants, which can degrade the plastic and worsen the leak. Pipe sealant is specifically designed for use on pipes, but remember—if your P-trap has a crack–it’s best to replace the pipe to avoid future leaks.
