He explained the benefits of a water softener and Reverse Osmosis (RO) water filter system. We replaced our non-functional water softener with a functional one. Our water hardness dropped from 75 gpg to 1 gpg post-installation of the new water softener system. We are seeing a huge difference in our hair and skin quality, especially for our little ones. Our dishes are cleaner and we need not worry about corrosion of appliances and pipes anymore. We stopped purchasing bottled water that cost us $600 every year and once switched to the RO system. The technician installed a brand new reverse osmosis (RO) system with an in-built mineralizer under the sink. Our drinking water tastes fresh and way better than tap water and bottled water. "First, Schaal really needs to add "plumbing" to their catchy commercial jingle because whenever I'd tell someone who I'd called to come and fix my leaky toilet they'd say "They do plumbing too?" Yes, they do. Second, I have to mention Deb, who answered the phone when I called to schedule my appointment, has to be one of the best customer-service people I've dealt with. She was extremely friendly and helpful, so compliments to her. The reason for my call was a toilet leaking into my basement when flushed. Also had the valve replaced as it sprayed water when flushed. Plumber arrived on time (a bit early even), explained what was possible that he might uncover (my house was built in 1940 so I knew other problems could be uncovered) and got the work completed in under an hour. Luckily he didn't uncover anything more than the basics - wax ring replacement, flapper/valve replacement. The price for the work done seemed reasonable I suppose, but that's one of those things I'm never sure of. When your toilet is leaking into your basement you don't want to get a bunch of estimates, you just want it fixed so you get the first people available out. Overall completely satisfied with the work and would certainly use Schaal again in the future.
