"Everything went as explained, diagramed, and promised by our System Design Specialist, Mr. Nicolas Hruska. We initially contacted just the top two Foundation Repair Experts listed on Angie's List because we can't afford to have our home repaired by anyone who lacks the proper credentials, staff, tools, training, techniques, supplies, 25 year transferrable warranty, and the hands on experience to deliver all services as promised. We are extremely pleased with the final results to take back our homes basement from poor workmanship done by the original builder and owner of our home back in 1979 We purchased the home in 2001 and unknown to us the foundation had been placed on top of clay based sub-soil which was an acceptable building practice back in 1979. Today's building codes prohibit this careless and costly practice of home site preparation for the homeowner. However, you should keep an eye on your basement floor to see if cracks continue to lengthen or widen or show signs of water intrusion. The cost of resurfacing concrete is $6 per square foot on average, though that cost can range from $3 to $9 per square foot. 

For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay $600 to $1,800, and for a driveway that is 500 square feet, that cost averages $1,500 to $4,500. Resurfacing your driveway will give you the look and feel of a new surface without the hefty cost.

Address drainage issues, avoid heavy loads, and seal cracks to prevent future settling.

If there is standing liquid on your concrete, remove it before attempting any of the above cleaning methods. For small amounts of water, use rags, a bucket, and a mop. For larger areas of liquid, lay down cat litter or baking soda to soak up the water first. If you have extremely large pools of water sitting on your concrete, break out the wet vac and get to work.

Cost and age are two factors to consider when determining if you should repair or replace your concrete driveway. If your existing driveway is on the older side and the cost of repairs is 50% or more of its value, it might be worth replacing it. Replacing a concrete driveway when it's 20 years old and deteriorating in condition will save you from the cost of repairs that likely wouldn’t save it from replacement in a few years anyway.
