She moved on to dining room. Swiffer moped hardwood floor under table without moving chairs. Without dusting, buffet, hutch, table or chairs. She moved on to start cleaning the living room. I asked Tess if she had finished in the kitchen, she replied "Yes I have." So, I went in to look around at my so called clean kitchen. This girl is not much of a cleaner. When I showed her only a couple of the things she missed to even attempt clean, she got a huffy and asked If I wanted her to leave. I said , "Yes. please go" Unfortunately I payed her $100. up front. Bad idea!

The project started January 21 and finished February 23. We had picked up some of the new items ourselves, but they picked up the vanity and all the tub-shower-toilet stuff from A.Y. McDonald's. Ben and Pete Schueller were the primary workers, and they both are excellent. They had to work around the painting and floor-laying, but it all worked out in the end. The tub and shower required taking down some old wall, so they had to put new wall up. They also had to take out the old in-wall medicine cabinet because the new one was flush with the wall. They installed a new light above the tub where there had been none, which required new wiring. They put a new four-light bar above the medicine cabinet. They had to build an improvised box to allow the lights to hang in front of the medicine cabinet shelf on top. They also had to fix a little problem with the front of the tub that wasn't rigid like it was supposed to be. Ben said he'd never seen one like that, but he knew just what to do. He even went with us to Menard's to select the trim and door casings and give us advice on the new lights. We couldn't be more pleased with the final outcome and would recommend Schueller and Sons Reconstruction to anyone. The original thought from my appliance installer was that the entire cabinet would need removing and remanufactured, including the custom crown molding. Larry was able to find a fast, proper solution that did the trick. No tearing apart a custom cabinet and setting me back in time and money. He got the job done, and we are NOT DELAYED with our installation of the Pro 48. Larry quickly returned my call, showed up when he said he would, was very pleasant. In fact we are planning on using him for a remodeling project on our fireplace and TV entertainment center. When Larry left , he asked me to call when fridge is going in tomorrow in case he needs to tweak his repair. That is very comforting to know he considers the whole job, not just his contribution. The pink sink wasn't bad, but the pink toilet was awful. It had been a kitchen pantry before the previous owners remodeled the kitchen and bath. An odd thing: they had moved the entry for the bathroom but left the old pantry door; it opened to the back of the drywall of the kitchen! Aaron ripped out everything but the floor and the "new" bathroom door (this was the really nice feature of the previous remodel. It is an old confessional door from a church). He added some studs, put up insulation (there was none...brrr!), and drywalled the room (including the door to nowhere). The floor only covered about two-thirds of the space because the old cabinets and counter were built in. Aaron did a great job adding more tile (and we had extra tile left by previous owners) to complete the floor. He gave us the weekend to paint the empty room (although he would have painted if we wanted). Aaron came back Monday and did a superb job installing the vanity and toilet we had purchased, plus rehanging the original mirror/light. He had also put up the stained trim he'd worked on over the weekend at home. The trim now matches the confessional door. The door had never latched for us and in a few minutes Aaron was able to move part of the frame over so it now works. We love the way the bathroom looks and spent the next week walking in there just to admire the changes. Aaron is a complete professional and a really good guy. He was very careful and cleaned up after himself every day. We plan to have Aaron build a screened-in porch when the weather gets nice. Our original experience was ok except the female of the household always felt the business owner "Bob" was arrogant and rude. My husband and I recently purchased a Sub Zero refrigerator to replace an almost identical one we had purchased from Bob's Appliance 12 years ago. When the refrigerator was installed, the wood panels that matched our cabinets didn't fit the access panel above the refrigerator. They installed a stainless steel grate but took the wood panels with them. A week or so later I called Bob to find out why we have a stainless steel grate instead of the original wood panels. (He never called or left a note to let me know what was happening with this.) "Bob" took the wood panels in late September to have the panels cut down and refinished. It is now after Thanksgiving and no panels yet. But worse. . . the wood panels on the door of the refrigerator had pulled loose from 2 screws, causing the panels to separate from the door when opening the door. Bob looked at it at the same time as referenced above (late Sept.) and told me if the other panels would take more than a couple days to get, he would send his son over to repair the refrigerator door. On November 25, the entire panel pulled off the refrigerator door. Bob had installed the panel, never said it was not sturdy enough or needed to be reinforced. He has called me and yelled at me over the phone telling me that the door panel was made out of "cardboard and gummy bears", that the panel wasn't made correctly 12 years ago. When I suggested that the manufacturing specifications probably are far different now than 12 years ago due to stronger seals on the doors, he told me I was wrong, yet we never had a problem with the panel for 12 years while it was on the old refrigerator. The owner is very arrogant and opinionated, constantly making excuses for not showing up or returning calls. Realistically only returns calls when my husband calls him. He has told me on several occasions that he would call before he comes to the house, then shows up unannounced. He cannot and will not accept any responsibility for his failure to follow up on this issue. This is unfortunate because his son whom I assume will inherit the business is very conscientious, friendly, and professional. Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts
You should not clean cabinets with vinegar. While many homeowners think it is a natural cleaner, vinegar is a mild acid, not a degreaser. Since it does not cut through greasy grime, it won't effectively remove it from kitchen cabinets. For best results, use a degreasing cleaner designed for prep work, then rinse and dry thoroughly before sanding.
The refacing process involves removing old cabinet fronts, applying veneer to frames, installing new doors, and updating hardware. It can enhance kitchen or bathroom appearances without extensive renovations.
Ensuring longevity involves using high-quality materials, carefully maintaining veneer surfaces, promptly repairing scratches or imperfections, and cleaning using appropriate solutions.
Refinishing cabinets requires sanding and restoring them with paint, lacquer, or stain. Refacing cabinets involves removing and replacing existing cabinet doors and hardware. Refacing cabinets can be more costly. Refacing cabinets typically costs between $4,500 to $10,600.
How much cheaper it is to replace your cabinet doors depends on your needs. If you’re looking to spruce up the look and feel of your kitchen, then you can make cosmetic adjustments to your existing doors, like installing new knobs or a fresh coat of paint. Cabinets can be some of the most costly parts of a kitchen remodel, but if there’s structural damage regarding your doors, then replacing them is your best option.
