"Failed to show up on agreed upon work date due to overbooking. Bid vinyl for an aluminum replacement, then was unresponsive about bidding aluminum. When we decided to go elsewhere, six months later they sent us an invoice for an additional, arbitrary $3k for work not performed. We disputed the invoice and never heard back until we got another invoice another seven months later seeking double the original amount including monthly interest and an ‘overhead & profit’ fee."

Homeowners insurance policies generally do not cover polybutylene pipes because of the high risk they pose. Some homeowners insurance companies have been threatening to terminate policies if homeowners do not replace them. You don’t need to shadow the inspector while they’re conducting the inspection—in fact, it’s better if you don’t—but don’t go too far in case they need access to something or have any questions.
