"Joe went out of his way to make sure this project had great results. They had samples sent, he answered all my questions, the floor was done in our shop in one day. Joe and his team followed up after the project to make sure we were happy. We are very happy with our floor."

Small jobs welcome

"Was going to hire him for a bigger project, however, our foundation cost more than we anticipated. We hired him for re-building our stairs, going from 1st floor to basement. He and his crew did an amazing job, they were having fun while doing the job! They were super nice. The stairs are super sturdy, and look amazing! If we need additional help for small projects I will most definitely keep him in mind!"

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"I loved going through this company for my flooring remodel. Shane was awesome to deal with and worked with me when I had to delay my project twice. I cannot wait to work him again the future when my kitchen and bathroom are updated for those floors as well. I definitely would recommend this company to anyone who needs floors done."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Combining flooring with other home upgrades in Ames is a practical way to minimize disruption and reduce labor costs. Many homeowners schedule floor installation alongside kitchen remodels, basement finishing, or electrical updates for efficiency. Coordinating with flooring contractors to bundle interior painting or trim work can also streamline the process, helping you maximize project timelines and potentially save on labor while improving your home’s overall value.

Helpful?

In Ames, unexpected costs during floor installation often include subfloor repairs, especially in older neighborhoods where moisture issues are common. Flooring contractors may also need to address uneven surfaces or remove old adhesives. Seasonal humidity can require extra moisture barriers, particularly for basement flooring. Permit fees, HVAC adjustments due to floor height changes, and potential delays during winter months can further impact your overall flooring project budget.

Helpful?

Flooring in Ames requires regular maintenance due to local climate swings and soil conditions. Use entry mats to reduce grit and salt tracked in during winter, and promptly clean spills to prevent staining. For homes near campus or with pets, consider durable finishes and routine vacuuming. Annual inspections by flooring contractors can catch early signs of moisture damage or subfloor issues, helping extend the life of your floor installation.

Helpful?

The timeline for flooring projects in Ames varies by material and project size. Hardwood floor installation in a single room typically takes 3-5 days, while whole-home projects may last up to two weeks. Vinyl and laminate are faster, often completed in a few days. Tile requires extra curing time. Seasonal factors, such as winter weather or university events, may influence scheduling and completion times for local flooring contractors.

Helpful?

Flooring projects in Ames address issues like worn surfaces, moisture intrusion from clay soil, and outdated materials that can harbor allergens. Upgrading flooring improves insulation, enhances energy efficiency, and reduces trip hazards. Many property owners also invest in new floors to attract tenants or modernize rental properties, especially near the university, making floor repair and installation a key step in maintaining a safe and appealing home.
