"Good job; friendly, efficient crew. Moved a few things that I could not move. I now have a great looking floor with no sign of the cracks and spalls that the floor had."

Small jobs welcome

"Was going to hire him for a bigger project, however, our foundation cost more than we anticipated. We hired him for re-building our stairs, going from 1st floor to basement. He and his crew did an amazing job, they were having fun while doing the job! They were super nice. The stairs are super sturdy, and look amazing! If we need additional help for small projects I will most definitely keep him in mind!"

"I loved going through this company for my flooring remodel. Shane was awesome to deal with and worked with me when I had to delay my project twice. I cannot wait to work him again the future when my kitchen and bathroom are updated for those floors as well. I definitely would recommend this company to anyone who needs floors done."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes. When installed properly, the strong adhesive on carpet tiles keeps them in place while also allowing homeowners the flexibility to peel up an individual tile and replace it if they need to. It’s important to keep in mind that the adhesive on your carpet tiles may take some time to cure, so it’s best to leave them alone for a couple of days after you first install them.

Avoid steam cleaning unsealed hardwood, vinyl, and laminate floors unless the manufacturer explicitly states that a steam mop can be used.

While it is possible to install carpet yourself, it is a challenging DIY project that requires precise measurement, proper cutting skills, and knowledge of correct installation techniques. The process involves multiple steps, including removing old flooring, installing underlayment and tack strips, and stretching the carpet to prevent wrinkles, which can take several days to complete.

Before starting, consider these factors:

  • Warranty: Many manufacturers' warranties are voided if the carpet is not installed by a professional.

  • Tools: You will need to buy or rent specialized equipment like a knee kicker, carpet stretcher, and seam roller.

  • Complexity: DIY installation is most suitable for simple, straightforward rooms. Projects involving stairs or floor vents are significantly more difficult.

  • Cost: While you can save on labor, the cost of tools plus the risk of expensive mistakes—which may require re-installation—can make hiring a professional more cost-effective in the long run.

Given the potential for errors, voided warranties, and the need for special tools, hiring a local carpet installer is often recommended to ensure the job is done correctly and safely.

Vomit contains organic fluids along with whatever else comes out with it. When left without cleaning, vomit, and its odor can reach deep into carpet fibers and become very difficult to remove without a deep cleaning. In some cases, the combination can cause permanent carpet staining.

If the installer is unwilling to fix the problems and you’re not interested in seeking remediation, you could hide a visually unpleasant floor. This will only work if the floor is structurally sound and the only issue you have is the way it looks. The easiest way to do this is to use large area rugs. You can also paint the floor, although that’s a labor-intensive job if you want to go the DIY route.
