"We had a previous experience with Hewes Family Movers when we hired them to move our son from a rental into his first house. That experience was perfect, so we reached out again to move our daughter's items from a storage locker into her first house. Once again, a perfect moving experience. The two-man crew was on time at the storage locker, loaded everything within less than 2 hours, and transported it safely to the house before lunchtime. Another two hours to unload and help set up a few items (hook up dryer, etc.) and they were finished. You won't be disappointed if you choose Hewes Family Movers, but you may have trouble reaching them - they are very busy, and deserve to be!"

"All Service Moving was exceptional. Great customer service - easy to schedule and flexible. Royce & Frost did an AMAZING job moving all of our very heavy and fragile belongings. They handled all of our requests and items with care and worked both efficiently and quickly. They were super friendly and very customer service oriented. I can't thank them enough for the GREAT job they did. I highly recommend All Service Moving for anything moving and/or storage related. And DEFINITELY request Royce & Frost to handle your job. Thank You!"

"This was by far the best move ever. I had moved 16 times prior and I wish this company had done each move. The company is flexible and extremely professional. The moving crew were professional and motivated. They treated us more like family than customers. They went out of their way to be patient and helpful! These guys are the very best. I strongly recommend this company to anyone who needs to move."

Small jobs welcome

"Eddy's Movers was great to work with from beginning to end. Mr. Eddy came it to provide an estimate and all options for the move. Maria got everything set up and confirmed the day before. The moving team showed up on time and did a great job. The whole process was very smooth and took a lot of stress off us. Great Job!"

"Working with Michael to set up the two moves with terrific. My problems came from the actual movers. The first movers dropped a heavy piece and damaged it. This group to our items to a location where they were transferred to another group to finish the move. More damage happened. The second move was done by a different group who picked up our things and delivered them. Again some damage. My problem with the second move was with the claim department at National Van Lines. I was overly careful about the damages I claimed (only submitting the largest items or easiest to replace), but had to negotiate to get a fair deal. BUT NVL did set me up with a great guy who could fix most of the damaged items."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Move date means the day that you are relocating your items from one space to another. If you’re renting, your move out date is usually the same as the last day of your lease, but it won’t necessarily be the same as your move-in date to another property.

Planning ahead is essential—this will give you the chance to coordinate your move during weekends or after business hours, and set up essential services in your new office before moving day to minimize downtime. Start by creating a detailed timeline and checklist for every phase of the move, from packing to unpacking. Inform your employees, clients, and vendors about the move well in advance, including any expected disruptions and how you plan to manage them. Delegate responsibilities to ensure all aspects of the move are covered. Lastly, set up the essentials at the new location first to resume operations quickly.

There are generally three ways to ship furniture to another state: hiring professional movers, using consolidated freight, or through parcel shipping. Professional movers will generally pack your boxes in a truck and transport them to a storage facility or directly to your home.

A consolidated freight service will pack, load, and ship your items, but this is best to use for one or two pieces since your items will take longer to be delivered and will share truck space with other items. Parcel shipping such as UPS and FedEx is best for smaller items since there are size limits, and you’ll have to drop the boxes off at a local branch.

Although purchasing moving insurance will add to the total cost of your move, it might take a weight off your shoulders. Moving insurance covers roughly 60 cents per pound. If you’re moving several antique or fragile items, you may want to invest in moving insurance covering damage or item losses.

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, mobile homes built before 1976 do not meet the current safety standards and shouldn’t be moved even a short distance.
