"I have been stressing for a while with trying to decide what to do about years of erosion and damage from an Oak tree that I loved dearly. Darrell came out, walked the property, offered suggestions that made sense and worked within my budget. Job was completed (tree removed, retaining wall built to stop erosion and sodded) in less than one week. I have another tree to be removed and lawn sodded and I have my guy! Thanks Angi and Peachtwins!"

"I bought my house a few years ago and always planned to redo the front garden. I wasnâ t in a place where I could pull everything up myself so I hired The Brothers to demo my front garden and give me the clean slate to plant my dream garden. Itâ s a small project but one Iâ m glad they handled. They were very communicative and responsive to all my questions. Iâ ll definitely be in touch with other projects I have planned."

"Such a great experience from beginning to end! They helped repair a roof and rotted wood from a 35-40 foot high roof on a historic condominium building in Midtown Atlanta. There were a number of complicated logistics with equipment and custom cutting and installation. Final House are experts at what they do and can help you accomplish an array of complicated projects with ease."

Customers say: Quality work

"Bigman Bobcat exceeded expectations. Larry was incredibly organized and professional upfront. Quotes and invoices were clear and detailed (big plus for me based on other experiences I've had on home repairs). Larry was flexible when I changed my mind for the type of gravel I wanted and arranged the ordering and delivery for my gravel and sod. Graded the backyard, prepped and laid the sod, laid the gravel. My backyard was covered in kudzu and weeds after years of neglect. Larry and his guys were SO detail oriented and cleared all of it! Great to work with and I highly recommend!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Preparation involves site assessment, clearing debris, grading surfaces, and compacting soil to support stable construction.

You should dig 3 to 6 inches deep for plastic edging. Dig as wide as you need to fit your plastic edging into it—2 inches is usually sufficient.

Almost any kind of home can have a wine cellar or cabinet installed. You’ll need an area where a concrete floor can be put in, along with the necessary insulation, climate control, and ventilation systems. If you think of yourself as an aspiring sommelier, an underground wine cellar may be ideal, but it will cost significantly more.

What you choose to install really depends on your budget and how many bottles you’re looking to store.

No, a ditch isn’t a trench. A ditch is an open, relatively shallow channel that’s carved out of the ground and used for drainage purposes. In contrast, a trench is a deeper excavation that’s entirely underground. Trenches have many uses, including gas lines, sewage systems, and electrical wiring. Unlike trenches, ditches don’t get filled back in with dirt after they’re dug.

Prior to excavation, you should prepare the dig site and call 311 before you sign anything.

To get your site ready for excavation, you should move anything in the area that isn’t affixed to the land. You can save money on the excavation by removing hardscaping, including walkways, decks, concrete patios, and paver patios.

Before you carry out any digging, you should call 311 to confirm that there are no utility lines running through your excavation site. Skipping this step could lead to severe injury and property damage if your excavator hits a water, sewage, or gas line.
