"I have been stressing for a while with trying to decide what to do about years of erosion and damage from an Oak tree that I loved dearly. Darrell came out, walked the property, offered suggestions that made sense and worked within my budget. Job was completed (tree removed, retaining wall built to stop erosion and sodded) in less than one week. I have another tree to be removed and lawn sodded and I have my guy! Thanks Angi and Peachtwins!"

"Daniel and his team did an amzing job replacing our worn out lawn with beautiful Zorro Zoysia. From my first phone call requesting an estimate and throughout the entire project, Daniel and his team were clear and concise with their communications and professional with all aspects of the install. We couldn't be happier with the results. No surprises, just 5 STAR service!"

"We hired Stephen originally to install new sod in our front yard after having some large trees removed. He did such a great job we have had him do several other projects that have transformed our entire yard. He is professional, knowledgeable and a dedicated worker. I wouldnâ t hesitate to recommend him to others for any landscaping project."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Depending on the severity of the freeze and the method used, thawing frozen underground pipes can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. Applying heat directly to the pipe using heat tape, infrared lamps, or hot water jetting can speed up the process. However, patience and careful monitoring are key to avoiding pipe damage.

It’s possible to transplant trees as tall as 50 feet when an experienced tree planting service uses the right equipment. However, a tree with a trunk larger than two or three inches in diameter needs to be handled by a professional in order to yield successful transplanting results. Consulting a tree planting professional is the best way to tell if your large tree can be safely transplanted.

Landscape edging is more DIYable than trenching. You can DIY your own digging projects, but proceed carefully and only with proper knowledge of the equipment and appropriate safety measures in place. Keep in mind the project's scope and estimate how long it will take you to do it on your own. While you can certainly save money by DIYing home improvement projects, you can’t exactly hide an unfinished—or worse, ruined— landscaping job from the neighbors. It’s always safer to call an excavation pro near you to get an estimate.

Trenchers can dig holes as narrow as 4 inches or as wide as 4 feet. Check the specifications of the trencher you rent or buy to determine how wide it will cut into the landscape. Better yet, let the excavation company know how wide you’d like the trench to be, and they can help you choose the right trencher for the job (or do it for you).

Depth is not a qualifying component of evacuation. Any human-made cut, cavity, or depression in the earth’s surface is considered excavation. The hole from excavation can be any size, shape, or depth. Excavation is used to create foundations, reservoirs, drainage ditches, and roads. Long, narrow excavations are called trenches and are often used for underground utilities.
