"Steve and his team were amazing. I cannot recommend them enough. From the initial evaluation, Steve was honest about my system. He quickly identified those portions of the system that were functioning and not functioning. Steve and the team check the functioning aspects of the system to ensure they were functioning, would last and not require replacement. I NEVER felt like I was being up-sold or taken advantage. I cannot recommend Steve and the team at Filtration Direct enough for any issue you maybe having with your water. His team is honest, respectable and very professional. Not to mention the work they did was top notch. Thank You"

"I had to get the permit before I could get a firm estimate. Egans Environmental did the site testing and applied for the permit. Darrell Cruz pumped the septic and dosing tanks and provided the page 4 report. Harold from Clay County Master Plumbing gave the estimate and did the work. Harold did a great job. He was delayed by rain and the sand company having an equipment problem. However he stay with the job and completed it in a reasonable amount of time. The Duval inspector came and checked everything out and passed the job. I did not have CCMP do the sod replacement because the weather was too cold and it would have died. I plan to get that done when the weather warms up some. The cost below covers Egans Environmental, Darrell Cruz and CCMP. I would highly recommend all three of these companies."

"My pool developed a leak at the joint where the PVC piping connected to the bottom of the skimmer from the pool pump. I'd patched it as many times as I could with epoxy. Until the leak was losing water pretty fast. I called a few "Leak Finders" and found some fast talkers. When I called florida leak locators, I was given a window when the leak tech would arrive, I then received a call from Manny and he arrived on time. Once I shared with him what I suspected, he conducted a few checks and suggested I cap off the skimmer and explained exactly how to do it. And see if that stopped the water loss. He explained the need for the skimmer to be replaced. Gave me an estimated price for the job. And all of this was done with no charge! ( I even texted for additional advice after the visit, and he replied) The cap worked and stayed in place for 6 months. When I decided to have the skimmer replaced I called a few places trying find a lower price. One business asked that I send them pictures of the skimmer and pool so they could properly access the blah blah blah, sent pics and that was the last I heard from them, the next business I called sounded as though he was doing ME a favor by accepting the job. Then I remembered I had sent a text to Manny. Sent a text and he called me back and it was as if, there was no lapse. Made an appointment and this time, Ron was the tech sent to replace the skimmer, he called and gave me a window of when he would arrive and arrived on time. I watched the entire process of removal and replacement of my skimmer. Pure professionalism and then he matched the surface of the concrete around the skimmer to the border around the pool almost perfectly. I highly recommend this company."

"Our tenant called saying that the hot water heater was leaking and the only shut off valve was for the entire house. I called Terry Vereen Plumbing and they came out within 2 hours. Once assessed and I agreed that a new heater was needed, they began to remove the old while a new one was being delivered. They were fast and thorough! They also installed a shut-off valve at the heater."

"The response to the initial consultation and scheduling of the installation was extremely responsive.
A certified water specialist explained the water composition in my region and walked through the breakdown of chemical and mineral content of the water.  He also consulted on various options and explained the configurations that he would recommend based upon the composition and systems the firm provided.  He promptly setup an appointment for installation.
The Service Technician arrived within the communicated timeframe, right at the start of the timeframe specifically.  He reviewed the targeted installation area, walked me through his process, and promptly commenced with the installation.  The technician consulted with me on the placement of the equipment and was responsive to my requests for configuration.
It is difficult to judge price or quality and as such I gave a B rating.  It is far too early to judge quality and I did not comparative shop but the price seemed within reason and past experience.

"After thorough research and several recommendations for my roof replacement, I decided to go with Total Home Roofing. David Hughes, my sales representative, was absolutely wonderful to work with. He responded very timely the day after my call request, explained in detail all of my options, and provided a very competitive quote. He was very professional, not rushed and took time to answer all of my questions. I signed contact the same day. Within a few days, the main office called to select an install date and defined process expectations. The installers arrived promptly on the scheduled date. The field supervisor met with me on the first day, again explained the process and provided his contact information should I needed to reach him. I also received a call from the project manager at the main office to keep me informed. The project was completed in two work days. Installation went well and the clean up was outstanding. I had to have them come back to adjust a section of gutter, which they did in one business day. I received the proof of completion on the date of final payment and was told a third party would be reaching out to me to assist with the wind mitigation certification paperwork. They too called timely and set-up and appointment to compete the wind mitigation inspection. They provided me with the report via email on the same day. I can’t say enough about what a great experience this was from start to finish. Thank you to David Hughes for representing your product so well and to the entire team for a job well done."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

The difference between an ejector pump and a sump pump lies in their purpose and design—an ejector pump functions to remove liquid gray water and soft solid sewage waste from your home. If you have a laundry room or bathroom in your basement, an ejector pump for your sewage tank prevents sewage from backing up in your washing machine or bathroom’s drains.

A sump pump is designed to remove excess groundwater that may enter your home, either due to flooding or periods of heavy rain.

Start by calling a plumber if you want to install a sump pump battery backup. Talk to them about your situation and needs. Sometimes, electricians or waterproofing contractors will install a battery backup, and in that case, the plumber you call should be able to point you in the right direction.

Several indicators suggest it's time for a sump pump replacement. A key factor is age; if the pump is over 10 years old, its lifespan is likely ending. Performance issues are also clear signs, such as the pump running constantly, cycling on and off frequently, making unusual noises or vibrations, or failing to function at all. A faulty or burnt-out motor is another definite sign a replacement is needed. Additionally, if you notice any signs of incorrect installation, the pump should be replaced. For a definitive diagnosis, a vetted plumber can assess the pump and confirm whether a replacement is necessary.

No. Sump pumps have different capacities, which refers to the volume of water that they can remove. They also come in various horsepower ratings, which measure the size of the pump’s motor. For many homes, 1/3 horsepower is enough. But if you live in an area that floods often, you might need a more powerful model.

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.
