"Our experience with 5 Star Painting was wonderful. Rich, Mark and Connie were easy to work with and very professional. The exterior painting was performed promptly and with the utmost attention to detail. I would highly recommend using 5 Star and will be using them again to paint our pool deck."

"Arti is a master tile installer! He repaired a section of our floor to perfection after someone else had made a mess if it. Thank you to Arti for stepping in to finish the job beautifully. Not many skilled craftsmen would kindly do this. He did. We are grateful."

"This is the only company that I will use for all of my painting projects in the future. Peter was very attentive to all of my needs. I had 3 quotes and Peter's quote was the best of all of them. We had not painted our in 20 years and we had a lot of peeling and mildew stains. Luke and Jeremy did a great job with the pressure washing. We also had quite a few cracks in the stucco. They were able to fix all of the cracks and caulked all of the windows. We didn't change any of the colors and Luke did a fantastic job matching the existing colors. Our soffit and fascia was a very dingy white and Luke was able to match our neighbor's dark brown color. Peter said it would take 3 days to finish but we had 1 day of rain so the whole job took 4 days. The house turned out so good that it actually looks better than when it was brand new. We have already gotten so many compliments and everyone looks at the house when they drive by. The curb appeal has increased 100% plus. We will be recommending ACS to all of our friends. Extremely professional and detail oriented. Everyone was very courteous as well. We are 100% satisfied. We will have ACS paint our house in 10 years. Thank you so much and again FANTASTIC job."

Small jobs welcome

"Russell & his crew (Paul & Dante) did an outstanding job on the exterior of our home & shed Russell is extremely polite, very detailed, great communicator, talented & hard working individual He has all the qualities you as a homeowner look for in hiring someone to do a project at your home I knew everyday what was going to be accomplished, who would be on our property and what time they would be arriving & expected to be leaving They cleaned up after each day’s work and worked in very hot weather, luckily the two weeks where we had no rain. The workmanship is excellent and Russell explained how he would repair/replace the exterior window sill and rusted border panels so rust would not reoccur. I highly recommend Fletcher Quality Finish and we will be hiring him to do some interior projects as well"

"OMG, where do I begin? The home we purchased was a seasonal home and lacking in love by the previous owners and Noel Painting and their crew came in and made it look fabulous! They treated our project as though it was being done for someone in their own family. We had constant communication (we were still in NY) through the entire project and pictures too (showing the progress). I consider myself extremely OCD and found nothing wrong upon completion! My husband was holding his breath upon our walk through when we arrived and I gave the thumbs up stating I found nothing to complain in the least about! I will definitely recommend them and should I change colors or remodel in the future, I have every intention on using them again!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

A properly applied coat of stain will last between 3 and 8 years, depending on your climate. If you live in a place where your fence experiences a lot of moisture or high heat, your stain will last for a shorter period than in more temperate conditions. We recommend reapplying stain every 3 to 5 years to keep your wood in good condition.

Yes, it is generally a very good idea to seal your deck after pressure washing. Power washing removes not only dirt and debris but also a thin layer of wood, leaving the surface exposed and more susceptible to weathering. Sealing is almost always needed after this process. After a general cleaning, sealing isn't automatically necessary if the existing sealant is still intact. You can test the surface by placing a few drops of water on it. If the water beads up, the sealant is working. If it soaks into the wood, it's time to apply a new sealant. If it has been a few years, it's wise to remove the old sealant, wash the deck, and reseal for maximum protection.

It is not always necessary to remove old stain before restaining a deck. If the previous stain is in good condition and is compatible with the new stain, you may be able to apply a new coat after thorough cleaning. However, if the old stain is in bad condition, flaking, or peeling, it is best to remove it completely to ensure an even surface and proper adhesion for the new coat. Staining over a damaged layer can lead to an uneven finish and poor penetration. For best results, test a small area first and consult the stain manufacturer's guidelines.

A concrete overlay is often the most cost-effective way to resurface a pool deck. To do this, you’ll need to pour a thin layer of concrete over the existing pool deck, which you can customize by stamping or painting. A stamped concrete overlay provides additional traction on a pool deck that can help minimize the risk of people slipping and falling.
