"David and his crew were absolutely amazing! Very personable, professional attitude, and an absolute pleasure to work with! We have a large 2-story 3,000 sq ft house and wanted to completely change the colors including trim and garage door. The level of attention to detail and pride in their work far exceeded anything we have ever seen! We highly, highly recommend FloPro and will hire them again for any future painting needs! Our house has been transformed and we couldn’t be happier!"

"They were very professional, did exactly what I ask. They replaced some drywall and where a mirror once was they blended the whole wall and you couldn’t even tell there was once a mirror in the wall. They also placed a tarp up so dust would not leave the area they were working in. I will use them again if I need anything painted or drywall replaced and painted."

"Our old bathroom vanity was falling apart and we desperately needed something done before summer. Jonathan walked through everything upfront and his team handled the whole project smoothly. The vanity installation looks solid and the tile work around the tub area came out clean. They kept everything organized during the work days and finished right on schedule. What impressed me most was how they managed all the coordination between different parts of the job. The bathroom feels completely refreshed now and the craftsmanship shows in all the details. Much better than some of the other contractors we looked at initially. Excellent timing for family visits this spring."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, you must thoroughly clean your deck before staining. If you don't, dirt, debris, grease, and mildew can get trapped between the wood and the new stain. This not only looks unsightly but also prevents the stain from penetrating the wood properly, reducing its ability to protect the deck from weather and UV rays. As a result, the stain won't last as long or look as good. Any existing mold or mildew left untreated can continue to grow beneath the new stain, potentially leading to wood rot and structural damage. Always wait at least 48 hours after cleaning for the wood to dry completely before applying stain.

Staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan and protect it from the elements. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it is not impervious to damage from moisture, sun exposure, splintering, fading, and rot over time. Applying a protective finish creates a shield that preserves the wood's strength and appearance, potentially extending its life by five to 10 years.

When choosing a finish, it's helpful to understand the difference between a sealer and a stain. A sealer sits on top of the wood, whereas a combination stain and sealer soaks into the top layer. Because it penetrates the wood, a stain generally offers better protection against UV damage and rot and lasts significantly longer. For the best results that also preserve the wood's natural color, consider using a near-translucent stain.

To maintain protection, plan on reapplying the stain or sealer every two to three years, either as a DIY project or by hiring a professional.

Liquid rubber is great for waterproofing, but it can damage your deck if it’s not applied correctly. First, it can trap moisture in the wood if the deck isn’t completely dry before application.  Second, applying it too thickly can create a heavy, rubbery surface layer that peels and cracks under fluctuating temperatures. For the best results, ensure the wood is completely dry before application, and apply the liquid rubber in thin, even coats. A quick inspection every now and then will help you catch any issues early, keeping your deck protected and looking its best.

The best exterior paint for the job of painting your front porch depends on the material you’ll be painting. Acrylic paint is often recommended for a wooden porch as it’s durable and easy to apply. If your porch is made of concrete, you’ll need to find a formula suited to that material.

Yes, you can waterproof any wood that has not already been treated. A good way to test this is to splash some water on it. If the water starts to bead up, the wood is treated and most likely doesn’t need another coating.
