Customers say: True professional

"After having other contractors come by to look at a job at my place Russ was the only one who followed through with what was need to get the ball rolling, I was afraid of the fact that I only needed a small patio (11x15) done and would have a hard time finding someone to do the job, despite some effort to gather all permits needed he still followed through with the project and with some patience on our part he pulled it off without a hitch,, also very fair with his pricing and didn't readjust cost when job was finished. great crew of fellows that work with him all friendly and seemed to enjoy what they due which is a rare find,, once they started the job they finished in two days which was comforting needless to say.."

"We moved into a new home and found a nonworking awning. It took work to find this company, which is the Sunesta Awning dealer in my area. Along the way, I had been given all kinds of quotes as to how expensive the repair might be. Mike from Awning Stars scheduled with me promptly, came over as scheduled, assessed the situation, and quickly determined that all that was needed was a minor adjustment that he completed in about five minutes. He even waived the cost of the service visit. He was personable, professional, and educative throughout."

"3400 sq ft patio, ten years old with multiple areas of subsidence and root damage. Manuel and his crew removed every paver, leveled the surface, reinstalled the pavers and replaced the retention wall. It was accomplished in 3 days of work. All elements of the job were accomplished quickly and professionally, and the patio looks better than new. An excellent experience in all respects."

Patios questions, answered by experts

Yes, a screened-in porch will increase your property taxes because it has a foundation and is considered a permanent improvement to your land. The exact amount your taxes will go up depends on the value of your existing home, the value added by the screened-in porch, the size of the structure, your location, and more.

A Florida room is a home addition that has finished walls with windows lining the perimeter, while a screened-in porch, also known as an Arizona room, lacks windows and instead has screens to maintain constant ventilation. Florida rooms provide longer enjoyment throughout the year because they’re closed off and will naturally get heated from the sun, while a screened-in porch will just be the same temperature as the ambient air.

A sunroom offers an additional indoor space to rest, dine, or host guests, all while inviting in as much sun as possible. Either built like an enclosed porch or a fully insulated home extension, a sunroom features floor-to-ceiling windows or screens that create an open, bright design while still remaining protected from the elements and bugs.

A professional can design and construct sunrooms or patio enclosures that meet structural standards, optimize environmental conditions, and integrate seamlessly with existing architecture. This ensures the project enhances home value and provides long-term enjoyment.

In almost all cases, you will need permits if you plan on building a sunroom over your patio, but regulations and requirements will depend on your municipality. Permits to enclose your patio will usually cost between $300 and $1,000. Since navigating local building codes and zoning requirements is challenging—and the consequences of not following them can be extremely expensive—we strongly recommend hiring a sunroom builder to complete the work and pull the permits for you.
