"Josh was prompt in arrival, and went immediately to work. He had all the tools, fittings, and supplies required. Josh quickly confirmed the need to move the supply, and did a nice job of it, keeping us informed of when the home's water would be shut off, and when it was on again. He wasted no time, cleaned up thoroughly, removed all waste materials, and put the old toilets outside in the designated place. The work time was under their (phone only) estimate, and in line with my expectations. I will use this company again (if there is a need), and I do recommend their services."

"The project was unclogging a toilet. Worker augered it in about 15 minutes and charge $99. It was a reasonable price (going rate in this area). Plumber also tried to interest me in purchasing other products/services (drain cleaner and new toilets for $750 per toilet with installation and warranty) from his company which I declined."

"First a different technician came without a camera and tried to rod from the clean out line. He cut through some items at 20 ft and 50 ft and then the rod got stuck and twisted on itself. He said a different plumber would have to come back the next day with a camera. This whole process took 3 hours due to heavy snow. Shawn came back the next day and tried to camera from the outside clean out line, inspected the crawl space, then removed the toilet and tried to camera from the toilet. He also located where the camera got stuck under the house using a metal detector. He explained everything in detail and reported his recommendations. This whole process took 2 hours."

"These guys are fantastic! They are very responsive, communicative and thorough. My plumbing is old and I did not understand the intricacies having only lived in the home (built on a slab) for 4.5 years. David and Collin figured it out and solved my problem within 48 hours of my initial contact. I now have a new go-to plumber. Highly recommend!!!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

A bit of water in the bowl can help unclog a toilet, especially if you're using a plunger. However, if the bowl is full to the brim, you'll need to strap on gloves and remove some of the wastewater in a cup or container so it doesn't overflow when you try to unblock the pipe. If you're concerned about it filling further, manually close the flapper in the toilet tank or turn off the water supply to the toilet.

No, your toilet tank should not empty completely when you flush. Although the water level will dip a lot after you flush, it shouldn’t be totally empty. If your tank is empty, you might have issues with your fill valve, float ball, or toilet trip lever. You should check all of your toilet parts to ensure they’re working correctly and make any necessary adjustments.

Installation costs range from $150 to $400, depending on toilet type and labor.

Toilets typically connect to your main vent stack, a vertical pipe that runs through all finished levels of your home and exits through the roof. It’s located behind the walls, but if you have an unfinished basement or a utility closet, you may find a portion of it running the vertical length of the space. Some basement toilets use an air admittance valve instead, which is a small vent located in the wall directly behind the toilet that extends upward a few feet from the drain.

Replacing a standard toilet with an elongated one is straightforward. The two types can be installed using the same existing drainpipe and plumbing. If you have a small bathroom, make sure that an elongated toilet doesn’t violate local building codes for clearance, which is the space between fixtures and walls.
