"Robby not only helped me with a complete remodel of my bathroom but also replaced my hot water heater and made a new connection for a washing machine to be moved inside the house while turning the old connection, in an outside shed, into a much needed utility sink. All work was done in Jacksonville, FL at 3235 Hickorynut st. The bathroom remodel was on a very tight time schedule of 4 weeks and a complete gut job. Robby was an absolute professional and able to make the 4 week goal from start to finish. Pricing was very affordable for the remodel, new washing machine connection, utility sink install and hot water heater replacement. Always on time and great communication throughout the project. Call him with your project ideas and plumbing needs and you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend this plumber!"

"I recently had my kitchen and guest bathroom remodeled by AP Advanced Construction. Throughout the entire process their staff was a pleasure to work with. Artur and Debra at the showroom were very helpful in the design process. They were able to answer all questions I had and any changes I wanted were made with ease. Benny and Eric kept me informed about when installers would at my house and what they would be doing. They also provided some helpful suggestions, like replacing the track lighting with can lights. The new lighting looks great and makes the kitchen much brighter. All of their installers were professional and I am very happy with the quality of their work. My new kitchen and bathroom look just like I pictured them after leaving the showroom. I've received many compliments from friends and family on how it looks. Thanks AP!"

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Bathtub and shower liners come in different colors, so make sure you select one to match the rest of the bathroom. Hire a local bath liner installer for the job since they have the expertise, tools, and materials to install it correctly. Request at least three quotes from various contractors and compare their rates and services.

Yes, you can remove a bathtub yourself if you have previous DIY experience and basic plumbing knowledge. You should have at least one other person help you if you approach this project as a DIY. However, hiring a plumber or bathroom remodeling pro can prevent accidental damage from demolition or water leakage.

A chipped bathtub could leak over time if you don’t take care of the issue. A tiny chip isn’t a big deal but may eventually grow into a larger crack. As the months go by, the tub’s barrier against moisture becomes weakened, making it prone to leaking. Large chips can also cause the tub to rust and even crack in half.

A drop-in tub is just one of the types of bathtubs available. Depending on your needs and the space available, you can consider an alcove tub for quick installation, a whirlpool tub for added relaxation, a freestanding tub for a statement piece, or a corner tub to take advantage of the space in a larger bathroom.

A standard bathtub can be used for soaking, but they tend to be shallower (between 15 and 18 inches deep). A soaking tub is designed to be deep enough to totally submerge yourself in the water (about 20 and 24 inches deep). Additionally, most soaking tubs are freestanding, while regular bathtubs come in various styles with drop-in, surround, and wall-mounted options available.
