"Excellent. The service technician (Willie) was excellent. We have had Willie as our service technician in the past and we have always been thankful for his professionalism, honesty, and fairness. He is quick to diagnose the problem and offer the most practical and cost-efficient solutions. This time he replaced the capacitor which was a successful repair. However, our unit is so old and despite being thankful that it has lasted us this long, we are having AMTEK install our new AC unit today."

"I just DIY installed my brand new ComfortStar 12,000 BTU 20 Seer 2 last night in my car garage. The installation went well and the mini split was impressive in quietly & quickly cooling a 2 car garage. The next morning the cool from the AC got warm. There was a leak throughout the night and by the afternoon when no cool air was given. I starting looking online to find R410A frigerant to pickup near me. I found out that R410a is to be discontinued with the exception of ordering online…with delivery time & no immediate replacement. I reached a few local HVAC techs but appointments were a day or two later. Adrian Cooling & Heating LLC’s & Arlet answered my distress call. A few hours was all it took with a friendly & knowledgeable tech to diagnose, refill refrigerant(2lbs) & checked to make sure no leaks. Bravo, an amazing rescue and my much needed work to be done in my cooled garage is very appreciated. I have all good praises from the reassuring phone convo w/Arlet & Adrian Cooling & Heating’s competent tech! I will only consider them if in need. Absolutely high regards & recommendations with my entire experience and shockingly fair in service fees. My Pop’s assumed “Emergency” fees would double or triple…refrigerant fee was the only invoiced!!! Thank you so much! Rouel"

"Last September, 2016 we had Service America Enterprise replace our air conditioning unit.  The price is hard to say because I didn't take any other estimates from other companies but them.  So I don't know what competing estimates would have been.  I think it was like $3400.  They were late in showing up.  I would use them again in the future but I don't know if it would be for air conditioning. "

"A horrible smell was coming from an unknown source.  Cleaned the carpets, the furniture, the beds, everything.  Nothing worked. Had been using air fresheners over and over and nothing was working.  Looked on line to see what might be causing the problems.  Recommendation was to clean the AC unit.  It was cleaned but the smell was still there.  Looked on line again and the recommendation was to have an ozone treatment.  Clean Air Ducts today was the first one I called.  Mike came by, set up the machine and we left.  He came back 3 hours later as promised and turned off the machine, opened the windows and let the home air out.  The smell was gone when I came back the next day.
Today it has been 5 days since the treatment and the smell has not returned.

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Vents may blow air even though the air conditioning system is off because of the pressure difference between indoor and outdoor air or drafts from leaky ducts. Check for leaks or drafts in the ductwork or around windows and doors.

You should flush your AC drain line once every three months to keep it clear of debris and buildup. Keeping your AC drain line clean prevents clogs, backups, mold growth, and extra wear on your AC unit. If you live in a humid area or have several furry pets, up your cleaning schedule to once a month.

No, it’s not normal for AC vents to drip condensation. A sweating AC vent is a sign of something wrong and can lead to issues like air duct rust or mold growth. Your HVAC unit might not be working efficiently because of a dirty filter or clogged ducts. Alternatively, your ductwork might not have adequate insulation, which allows the cool air in the ducts to meet the humid air outside, causing condensation.

The length of an AC cycle depends on the settings in your thermostat and the unit you have. Central AC doesn't constantly run at full blast the way that a window unit does. A cooling cycle in most homes is 15 to 20 minutes. Then, the unit stays off for seven to 10 minutes to circulate the cold air in the house before the cycle repeats. It should repeat two or three times per hour. A short cycle lasts less than 10 minutes and then turns off.

Not if you have a standard unit. Because portable AC units actually work to dehumidify the room, you’ll likely need to drain the unit from time to time—but you won’t have to put water into it. There is, however, another type of air conditioner called a swamp cooler that requires water to operate. If you have a swamp cooler, you may need to fill a reservoir with water and potentially ice. But a swamp cooler is different from a standard portable AC unit.
