"I had two big piles of Hurricane Ian curbside debris (including sawed logs) to clean up. I also had 3 Palms to be trimmed. Earlier in 2022, A-Absolute also trimmed many trees on my property. At both times, the A-Absolute team did a great job and cleaned up the site thoroughly. I have used several tree services in my 15 years in Palm Harbor, FL. A- Absolute is by far the most-professional and thorough tree service I have used in FL. They have state-of-the-art equipment and knowledgeable staff who know how to use it. The team takes extra steps to ensure the job is done right and clean-up is thorough."

"While assessing damages from the hurricanes of 2024, we noticed that a ginormous young oak tree in our side yard had a definite lean to its huge trunk. Living in Clearwater, our soil is basically all sand, and given the flood of water that had caused trenches around the base of this oak, we knew this was a major problem. We called Tucker Tree Service, Inc. and they came out and got right to work. They used the right equipment and made short work of what I saw as a huge job. They made sure everything was done without damage to the septic tank that the oak was sitting on and were careful to avoid the leach beds. Again, this was a ginormous tree, with large branches extending over the roof and intermingled with branches of another oak nearby. They all came down without damage to our new roof. Tucker Tree Service had the entire tree removed, the water soaked limbs and trunk hauled away all within a couple of days. Then brought in a machine to grind down the stump to safeguard the septic tank. Although I was very saddened to see such a beautiful grand young oak removed, within just a couple of quick days, the threat was gone. Thank you Tucker Tree Service. You gave us a strong sense of trust, reliability, and security during a time of chaos and worry. We truly appreciate that. If you’re looking for reputable and affordable tree removal, I highly recommend Tucker Tree Service, Inc."

"This is the second time I used Proper Cut Tree Care and I can't say enough good things about them. Prompt, courteous, efficient, professional, clean, thorough, and competitive pricing. They removed a large oak tree that was close to my home and ground the stump. Ken arranged everything and accommodated my special requests and coordinated with my HOA and the landscaper to protect underground sprinklers and utilities. Call them if you need tree service, you won't be dissatisfied."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Unfortunately, palm tree stumps are one of the most difficult types to remove due to how their roots grow. Unlike other trees, palm tree roots grow horizontally and vertically. Palm tree roots grow as deep as three feet into the ground, although soil and growing conditions could mean they go as far as 50 inches into the earth.

If you want to be able to repurpose the grass in the area where you removed a stump later, you’ll have to dig quite deep—and perhaps wide—to trim away all the roots.

The cost of trees varies massively based on the size of the tree and the species. A small Colorado spruce can cost as little as $30, but a golden rain tree of the same size can cost $90. Large trees can cost $1,500 or more, depending on their species and height.

Unfortunately, if you cut the top off a palm tree, it will die. Instead of budding or branching out, the top begins to slowly rot. That's why having a professional tree trimming at least twice a year is a good idea. If you don’t have experience with trimming your palm tree, you might accidentally cut the top off, leaving a dead and rotting tree in your wake.

Any tree that needs to be pruned should be pruned to remove dead branches at least once a year. You may need to prune far more often if you’re trying to maintain a certain shape or to save a tree that suddenly becomes infected.

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.
