"Needed 3 trees removed, googled tree service and wards tree service was one thst came up. I was going to get some estimates from several so I called Wards tree service 1st due to his 5.0 reviews. Matt came out the same day I called and gave me a very reasonable price so I gave hom the go ahead. Matt and crew came out 8 am like said and was working with care of the property. I asked Matt if he could do a few extra things and preformed them as well with ne extra charge. I'm very pleased with his job well done. If you need some tree service Matt is your guy to call"

"I can hardly put into words the GREAT, professional, knowledgeable, awesome work that they did. They went above and beyond what I expected. They even worked through the rain. They were very punctual and definitely knew what they were doing. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give them a 20. There were a few structures in the way but no damage was done whatsoever and they were more than capable of working around them. I would refer this team to anyone who needs tree service. In fact they will be coming back out to my property in a couple of more weeks to do some more work for me. And the icing on the cake, they were very very reasonably priced. I could not ask for more than the work that they completed. Very outstanding"

"Easy to set up appointment and then they arrived within the window indicated. All of the crew were friendly and obviously knew what they were doing. My palm tree was trimmed back beautifully and they cleaned my front yard of all debris. I definitely recommend this business and will use them again."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

For safety reasons, leaning trees are best removed by a professional, as they may often tear away from the hinge, causing you to lose control over where the tree falls. If you choose to cut down a tree leaning slightly, avoid cutting off root protrusions before you start. Make your hinge a little longer than usual by cutting it deeper (up to 30% of the diameter) and applying a wedge into the felling cut on the side the tree is leaning. Stand away from the direction the tree leans while making your felling cut.

The recovery time for pruning depends on how much you prune, the species of tree, and how well you care for it afterward. All trees grow new wood and often sprout additional branches after pruning. Ideally, trees should recover from normal pruning after one or two years. Heavy pruning or slow-growing trees may take several years to fully recover.

Surface-level tree roots might only pose a small threat, such as being a tripping hazard or obstacle when you mow your lawn. But if mature tree roots start growing in the direction of your home’s foundation or plumbing system, it could be a real problem. Cutting small tree roots out before they grow too large can keep your home safe without removing the whole tree.

It will take you anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours per tree stump to grind and remove the stump from the ground. The larger the size, the longer it will take to remove the stump. Also, keep in mind that rocky soil may require local excavation services to loosen up large boulders before you can begin to remove the tree stump.

Trees that flower in the spring—like dogwood, cherry, magnolia, and pear—should not be pruned during the winter. These spring-flowering plants grow buds on old growth, so you’ll actually remove what would’ve been gorgeous flowering foliage. Instead, wait to prune until right after they bloom, when the flowers fade.
